The NEW Official Xbox® Thread: $399 system without Kinect coming in June

Any issues downloading/installing the Day One firmware? I heard Live went down last night…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SEfPeWdABM

The firmware was about 550mb, took about 25minutes to download…The only reason why the setup took so long cuz i didn’t remember my password for my baklakiller account. I checked my disc drive & seem to be working fine. The only issue i had was the big scratch but other then that the xbox looks pretty sexy. Its actually a lot lighter then it looks too. I didn’t bother setting up the kinect yet.

Online KI was silky smooth. Just as good as XBL HDR which i think was the best online fighter experience. Not feeling KI as much though but ill make my final judgement once i get the sticks.

The best part about the netcode so far from the couple people I played was I didn’t notice even one GGPO style rollback/teleport. I’m sure I may see some against people with worse connections in the future, but I haven’t seen any yet. Unfortunately they don’t show you pings (not sure if they even show location) but if they’re not doing that yet, the netcode might as well be delay free which it seems to be so far.

Obviously… It’s not just because the game is COD
Now i can’t see what that game is exactly but it has a “E” in the ESRB-rating (safe to say it isn’t a cod-disc)

I’m one of those people that was quick to jump at the PS4’s errors.

Why?

Because it’s sickening after a while dealing with anti-M$ folks.

On that note, I’m on my way to get my Xbone noah.

@Unreallyistic
I’m not gonna comment that , but i will say that i hope that your xbone doesn’t do that fartsoundfartnoise thingy.

peace man.

“This is rocket science stuff.”

hmmmmm

this is bad…

If there is one issue that is universal among failures, that’s fine. It means it’s easy to identify, and if it happens to you, customer services is smooth and easy. And the chances of losing that customer are less.

If there is mutliple issues, like this, then it shows that the system as poorly designed, and the ensuing frustration from trying to figure out what the hell went wrong means people won’t want to buy your console unless they are fanboys…

This isn’t looking good for them at all and M$ better fix all the problems and have solutions before the inevetable shit storm happens.

The only problem I had with my Xbox One setup was that the Logitech Harmony remote hasn’t been updated yet to work with it. But their database was just now updated:

I present to you… the compilation!

And also…

Kinect Won’t Recognise You After a Hair Cut

well, i’m not celebrating defective hardware. no one wins in this situation.

This is sort of what i was getting at. Because of the information passed along by users and sony being able to correlate between the stories, they were able to diagnose where the issues were, which retailer they came from, and took action.

with problems spread out, especially with shared issues between overseas consumers and in NA, you have to imagine this isn’t a bad batch. and then the varied issues from controller sync issues to disc eating to green screens to random nuttiness… its not as easy to diagnose as a bad hdmi port was for a majority of ps4’s problems.

hopefully the exposure rate is much lower for ms. it is a much bigger release (world wide as opposed to ps4’s na release) so expect more cases… but where that weighs against the overall number of xbox’s in the wild should be the big concern.

Who wants to bet the Xbox One’s given away in the 2minute sweepstakes will be defective pieces of shit? Kinda like the Taco Bell PS4’s.

I bet you attend mySQL seminars that’s actually a cult meeting that pays tribute to your overlord, who doesn’t even give two shits about the company anymore.

fake nigga.

So I was able to use my Xbox one for maybe two hours. After a bit of KI, I tried playing Lego Marvel (via disc), and then Forza (disc). No games will load for me now, and this includes downloads. I get sent back to the dashboard every time I try to load a game.

Fast forward to now, and neither of my controllers will sync. I can still navigate with the Kinnect but the sync button on the XBone does pretty much nothing for me. I would really like to hope that its just an oversight on my part, but it seems this thing has been junk from the jump.

Please tell me I’m just missing a dumb feature

EDIT So apparently I can’t get my controllers working while the Kinnect is plugged in. I restarted the system without it and they work, and won’t work while it is operational. Now to figure out how to play a game…

So are there more Xbone’s fucking up than PS4’s or what? Has Microsoft claimed a % of defective units yet?

^ New Xbone revision already planned for early 2014.

People think it’s a Kinect-less Xbone to slash the price to $399 to help compete with the PS4, or if these software/hardware issues become a big problem, Msoft probably wants a more reliable console out sooner rather than later to avoid another RROD fiasco.

Smh.

RUMOR: New Version of Xbox One Already Being Prepared for 1st Quarter of 2014

As much as I’d love it, I doubt they’d drop a cheaper, Kinect-less SKU so soon. I’m sure there’d be a decent amount of folks pissed off that they essentially had to buy into Kinect.

Another possibility is the non-gaming, entertainment-only Xbox that was rumored. It seems just as implausible, but at least would fit with the vision they originally laid out for the One.

I refuse to believe that article is true.

The xbone in this vid sounds like its gonna explode , rofl

Xbox One Sells Through More Than One Million Consoles in Less Than 24 Hours

Was watching some DR3 on stream with a co-worker for a bit. Kept bringing up all the stupid moments & crazy combo weapons from the earlier titles. So jealous.

Wow, same as PS4’s 1st-day sales.

Wonder how things are gonna look after the Holidays.
