It’s different. If you tried to put the 6 button plexi on an 8 button Q4 it doesn’t line up. The joystick and button holes are more centered on the 6 button. It’s all shifted about an inch to the right.
Here’s the six-button template I used for my stick:
It’s a psd version based on the original Qanba template, which was just a jpg. I can’t find the original anymore.

Thanks that’s the right template. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. Maybe if I go to kinkos I can download it from there. Thanks so much!

Thinking about doing an Injustice stick and got me thinking about sticks again. Made this one a while ago thought I would share. Sorry for image quality.
The Red Cyclone was the only subject I could ever even consider for my first custom art. Angle isn’t shown but when laid flat looks like he is gripping the ball.
When you have a template, are the buttons on it just the plunger part of the button or do they mark the outline of the surround? I ask so that i know how much of my pictures will be obscured etc.
Hows this? I am colorblind so not actually sure what color the background is its just a wallpaper i put behind the third strike image Have ordered clear sanwa buttons.

Typically templates outline the cutouts for the button holes. The surround will have some additional overlap. That may vary between templates though so when in doubt, double check with the template’s creator.
Nevermind, I think I know what to do
it usually only accounts for the plunger when you place the button in the plastice ring will extend out from the hole a bit. I can’t speak for EVERY template but the ones I have used this is the case.
You could get clear ringed buttons to minimize the art obscuring…
Thanks man, i have clear buttons and surrounds so just didnt want to cut off around the surround when i only need the inside bit etc.
Btw guys, if you are using a plexi do you use any kind of adhesive on the back of the art at all or simply sandwich it between plexi and plate?
Hey photoshop pros, anyone know how BossLogic achieved the ‘tron/neon street fighter’ effects? I get the glow portion on the isolated areas but I don’t get how to achieve the grey skin tone.
For example:

I’m trying to get something similar to the vega one. I’m assuming some kind of filter is applied (like how sepia kinda works).
Any help would be greatly appreciated
actually if you understand how to do the glow effects then making the grey tones in the skin is cake. all you have to do is select everything that is not part of the glow and go under image and play with the adjustments till you get the tone you are happy with. The best advice i can give you is play with all the adjustment tools you will surprise yourself with what you come up with
I’m honestly not a great designer myself, but if you’re going for something simple this might be heading in the right direction. The random speckling over the rays seems a little off-putting to me though, and the background itself seems somehow too flat. Adding a bit of a color gradient, a texture, or both to the background might help. A darker color might also help the figures to stand out a little more. That’s about all I got for quick advice at the moment.
Better to have the tron lines as a separate layer on top of the inage and then just adjust the color of the main layer. This way you can apply blending effects to the lines separately.
overlay (mockup) for the stick i posted here

The full TE template is larger than A4, do you all get them printed on A3 and just cut them out? Having a buttload of trouble finding somewhere here in UK that does it but figure i might see if we have a printer at university, seems the sort of thing they would have in a random dept.

Hey, I’m from the UK and I just had my artwork printed on a gloss/laminated sheet with sticky back. My art was just over A4 so I had to get it printed on A3 and then cut away the rest. If you are anywhere in Manchester I can let you know where I got mine done from. Its not that cheap though and I ended up paying 15 quid. The print quality was gorgeous though.
