There used to be a template and plexi offered for this purpose, but it was through The Game Surgeons, which I believe is presently down (even their website is gone). You just reminded me though, I still have a .psd file for their template. Should work with the HORI VX and V3 (for 360 and PS3, respectively) controllers. I can probably email you the template if you would like. Someone in this thread might be able to help with the details of appending art to this stick.
Well, I’ve been itching to work with this concept again and have a new stick for it. Thanks to D3vlicious for the template.
Looks to be a hitbox controller (uses the three left-hand buttons and the larger thumb button as directionals, in place of a stick). I’ve always thought they looked pretty fun to work with in terms of design, but whenever I play anything via keyboard, I use directionals with my right hand and action buttons with my left, so I’m not sure if I could adjust to one.
Hello guys, first time posting on this thread and also my first time designing artwork for an arcade stick! I wanted to do an Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail anime) themed stick, but I didn’t manage to find any good big fitting images of her so I decided to try this approach instead. Any thoughts or comments? There’s probably something that I could improve before printing this out for my Qanba Q4RAF. Thanks!
When is stick art overly perverted and frowned upon? I’ve seen a lot of ecchi, oppai and hentai related “art”, yet not many people seem offended or grossed out about it. I’m wondering because is the FGC really just full of perverts?
‘Perverted’ is a loaded and relative word. One person’s perversion is another’s harmless peccadillo, and one should be careful about applying one’s own moral standards and societal norms to others, particularly on an international forum such as this.
Perhaps ‘exploitative’ or ‘objectifying’ might be better terms for your question than ‘perverted’?

Thanks! Every one of those panels were carefully selected and they include my favorite parts from the series, so the art itself is more then just a cool looking picture. Still I know that there’s something that could be improved on, I just don’t know what…
I like the manga panel-style - have you considered clear buttons with the art continued inside them? You could use transparent red for the last two buttons to continue the scarlet theme (I assume your stick is red, judging by the buttons and panel borders?)…

I’ve thought about the clear buttons yeah, but I think I’ll skip them at first to save some cash. The case itself is the standard black Qanba Q4RAF, buttons and the stick would have the same colors as in the image that I posted. I could swap it around and have a white stick with 6 red buttons in the middle and 2 white ones on the right. Still not 100% sure if I wanna go for a bubble ball top or a normal solid one.
