The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

Not really… It’s only 5-10 minutes of edits, tops.

lol i know

  1. Identify model/brand of stick
  2. Find replacement plexi
  3. Get good with Photoshop (or PM/pay someone here to make your art)
  4. … … Profit?

Seriously though, there are two paths in life: Learn how to do something (takes time, hard work, patience, no immediate results) or pay someone to do it for you (much faster). You have about 100 pages of thread here to read through and see what people have done and look at the QnA between the art creators and the critics in here. Your question cannot be answered in 1. this thread, 2. one post. Cheers, and good luck.

Or ask someone who likes to make these arts as a hobby and make them for free.

or ignore donkey and pay me, because i’m broke and need the money.

Looking for these PSD’s or high dpi versions of the backgrounds. I’ve searched all over and can’t find them…halp? :frowning:

… you get what you pay for.
/ohsnap /thereisaidit /whaaaaa?

For serious though… people who charge have a responsibility to meet the satisfaction of their customer, people who do it for free do not. Not saying there’s a “Quality” difference per say… but there’s definitely a responsibility difference for sure. =)

Would you send your stick to someone across the country to get modded for free? Would you take your brand new car to a “hobbiest” mechanic for mods/upgrades? No offense intended, I’m glad people are out there doing it for free for the people who can’t afford, but you can’t argue with the quality that people like D3V and DropFace put out there. =)

These are likely not “backgrounds” as they look like custom works (i.e. layers). The “Background” on that second stick is a VERY common desktop wallpaper that I’ve seen about 1,041 places.

Are you from the Seattle area SP?

Indeed I am =)

Believe me. I do it as a hobby and if there is something the person does not like, I will be willing to scrap the whole thing and start anew. Money incentives are nice but I do them for free because

A. They are fun to make
B. I learn new things as I make more arts.
C. It boasts your credibility.
D. For example, there are internships for college students that do not pay the student to work but the experience is very valuable. Any college student would still work just as hard as someone getting paid.

And for all your examples. CREDIBILITY! If Microsoft was giving free windows 7 software and you had to send your computer, wouldn’t anyone do it?

And I agree. D3V makes very nice arts but I look more up to Drop One’s commissions

Oh! I have an idea! You can be my intern, make all the art for me and I will collect the money!

I’m glad you do stuff for free… keeps us commissioned people honest =)

As long as the experience looks good on my resume :sunglasses:

Anyone feel like making an HRAP1 template to mimic the HRAP1 pic I posted before? I don’t have the right fonts and I bet it would take someone 2 minutes. I guess it should be light grey and all fonts/logos a darker grey.

Was bored and decided it was time to change the art on my stick so i threw a template together! INstead of going with generic fighting game character template i decided to attempt a simple design with the button overlays and whatnot. Feels like its missing something any input guys?

Hey, where do people get that 3d render to preview their art on?

You know, I really like the simplicity of that design. The contrast of the white is a little much, but it won’t probably be as harsh in print. I’m not sure how I feel about the plaid look of the red stripes though. Mixed feelings, not necessarily bad.

I’m gonna use the TE-S template to design and make a Brutal Legend artwork.

That game is what Guilty Gear 2 should have been.

its missing a gang of scanlines. from now on all templates should have a layer of scanlines… even if the layer is hidden. it just needs to be there.

honestly though, i think it looks fine.
