Octagon version. Any ideas to make it better?
make the white lines lighter and even out the black lines. they seem to be varying distances from each other, but at the same time, symmetrical… which is triggering my “ocd”.
Still feel its missing “something” but unsure of what.
Hi all. I have just bought my first ever arcade stick to play Street Fighter. Ah it takes me back… Anyway I got it off EBay and when I received the item it had some really nasty scratches on the face (Typical EBay!). They are pretty deep and go through the “Overlay” & the artwork. Now I was looking to mod the Joystick and buttons with Sanwa parts. It now looks like I will have to replace the artwork & “overlay” to.
Now my question is this. I am not so sure what it is called but the “Overlay” that protects the art work can it be replaced? I know the artwork can but I am not so sure if the “Overlay” can. If it can be replaced any ideas as to where I can get it done? I live in England. Thanks for your help guys.
Oh yes, could also someone be kind enough to explain how I make a custom artwork template for my stick? I have the image I would like to use. I also have the Mad Catz stick template. Do I just take the image and paste it onto the template in Photoshop? Sorry if that sounds stupid, but I have no experience of Photoshop. (We did not have computers when I went to school haha!)
P.S My stick is the Street Fighter 4 arcade fight stick.

Alright, here’s an update on my previous post. Thanks again to TheTaiwanNinja and Drop One for answering my questions on how to make various things!

I dunno… I liked the black lines way better before when they were at varying positions but still symmetrical, and I’d have just brightened the white lines rather than the background as well.
I’m also not digging the octagon shape; I think it looked way better with the circles. How about turning the octagons, maybe 15-30 degrees to the left or right? Maybe try the same, but with hexagons?
Also, I’d reduce the size of the pink stroke on the edge of the button surrounds. Maybe use a darker shade of pink as well, like you did in the circle version.
Anyways, just my thoughts.
