The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

i think you should use the white honey comb background for the whole thing, the black is distracting and doesn’t blend well.

rearrange the Jin in the background so that it looks better between the hexagons

I kind of like the black, though. The negative space brings out the actual color and I find that a full honeycomb background looks terrible. :s Plus it plays on a whole crystalline icy theme without actually making the ice.

Yeah, I’m getting on that. The lines seem to obscure his face a bit and that would get annoying. I’m also going to realign the hexagons so that the spaces are more symmetrical.

My semi-first stick art, not very good at making my own art really. Thoughts, Concerns, Criticisms?

<3 Just finished this recently <3

You know that the joystick part will be coming out of his forehead, right?

from a design standpoint i think it looks pretty solid. i would move some of the splatter away from cap’s face on the top left though.

also, i cant tell from looking at it right now, but depending on the location of the stick/buttons on the stick you are using, you might be clipping the bottom image of cap more than you need to.

i would move him closer to the bottom left, but that is just me.

To anyone who messaged me about, whatever…I’d like to apologize for not replying. Been super busy with life and work, but if you still are interested please msg me. =]

I love that juri art. I actually wanted a juri fightstick with that piece on there. Looks great.

Here was my attempt at a stick that used that same art. This time instead of having a ton of characters I was going with just 3. I am still trying to find a picture of Psylocke I like though. It needs to match the other two characters which have a more “painted” look to them.

Also does anyone have any good tips for removing the white boarder surrounding Juri? I suppose ill just have to carefully blend it into the background using the paint and smudge tools.

you just need to crop it better. smudge will make it look bad.

you could try a black inner glow also.

I have a render of this captain america with reconstructed shield and also a render of the micheal turner captain you have there if you want them.

i could certainly use those. i want to make a cap stick for myself, but i dont want to go anywhere near the MvC3 art for him.

A few tricks you can use are (in photoshop)

go to layer, matting, defringe (by 1 or 2 pixels)

Magic wand, uncheck contiguous, click on the white and erase as needed

Go to select, selective color(?), click on the white to select any white in the picture and erase

If you’re afraid of permanently erasing, look up how to use layer masks

Yeah I knew it would be close but not clipping xD

Yeah seems to be the consensus about that image, I’ll get to moving him. Thanks for both of your comments

That picture is awesome  thanks.

I’ve actually used that image in my cap America template. It was one of the first templates I did for my requests

actually that’s not entirely true the smudge tool could help around the edges i would play around with the smudge tool on it also try a blur tool, and a inner black glow will do very little to it.

smudged lines are not good. Nor blurred edges. To achieve best results use the pen tool or layer masks.

This commission is still a work in progress, but it’s almost finished.

if you know how to use the tool smudged/blurred lines can be very useful and can help many designs

This is another of my original drawings not so carelessly slapped onto one of my templates.

you clearly dont know what you are talking about, so im just going to advise that from now on people just take your suggestions with a grain of salt.

sure it could be useful, but for cropping? no. this goes back to that whole ‘what not to do’ thing i was talking about before.
