Huh?
Well I don’t speak for Drop One, but I find the whole thing aesthetically unappealing. Without getting into too much detail, there isn’t a single aspect that you created that’s worth keeping. Sorry mang.
That’s strange cause iv sold 9 copies of this template in the past 2 years and when i go to tournaments i get nothing but complements on it. the thing i like to do with Templates like i did with this on is keep the concept simple i see a lot of sticks where people add way to much to the artwork and in doing so lose the aspect of the design. Something that all designer should know is a method used by all top end designers and its called the KISS method ( Keep It Simple stupid ) :). when i presented this to my old design teacher he thought it was very well done ( i wanted a professionals opinion ). The main thing a design like this should have is Synergy and i believe along with a lot of other people that this template has that.
here have a template in my collection that has really nice example of synergy to and its simple yet appealing and just by quintessence it has a Felicia theme to it

choice of images
clashing/unbalanced font
character positioning (deal lord, this)
choice of template colors
choice of button labels
bad re-coloring on the image on the right…
i could keep going… honestly, the whole thing is like an example of what NOT to do on an arcade stick template…
also, i wasnt going to say anything at first, but having looked back on a few of your previous posts, i think you should re evaluate your style. you rely too much on basic cookie cutter templates weather they fit with the flow of your actual design or not. that AVGN one i saw was pretty good though.
Ok, i’ll tell you what’s wrong with your design. One of the BIGGEST rules of portrait photography is to avoid obstructing the face (and it applies to all design work). Also your clipping of the picture on the right could be better, I see white edges. You placed random lens flares in the background. The gamma on the right picture is way off, her outlines should look black, not brownish gray. Your button labels are off to the side and the shoulder buttons are in red which don’t match anything but the “arcade fightstick”. Also, why is there so much black? The flat black is unappealing and makes the stick feel claustrophobic.
Take this however you want, though you seem pretty stubborn with anything against your theory of design. Don’t bash anyone’s design because of the “lack of originality” and no “synergy” and then post your template in comparison.
what Not to do? that is so weird cause iv sold over 200 templates with those very design’s iv used ( one of the more popular ones being the Aqua Teen Hunger force one and the Juri pink/purple glow one ) and all my clients seem to be very happy with the work i have done on these templates. You have to remember when designing these you have to keep in mind what the customer/client would want
never bashed anyones design
I agree with much of what dz and drop one have in regards to bonesaw template but let me give my two cents. Yes bonesaw while simplistic is usually a good way to go sometimes also going to simple is a bad thing it doesn’t offer much to the viewers eye. When looking at a gfx piece you must have a focus that catches the eye in which is y sometimes simplistic designs work good. Slapping a solid color or a gradient color or even a texture to more experience designers make the work seem lazy and unappealing. In regards to ur above template with the felicias i’ve seen you post a strong opinion on cookie cutter templates and stuff being overdone yet u went with the overlyused ink splotches button layout.
Not trying to bash on anyone fyi one of the important things to remember every gfx designer has different taste in the way they work or what style fits their preference. Not everyone is going to like what they see.
Hopefully one of you guys can help me here
Anyone know where I can grab the punch and kick logos to put inside the buttons?? I have looked but no joy.
Thanks
drew this myself. kind of old, but i wanted to make a better template for it than the last one i did.
Here’s the best I have, I don’t know if they’re a suitable resolution for you but I hope they’re useful to somebody:
I had no idea so much thought and… “madness” for lack of a better word, goes into stick art.
This was my essential idea, altho I found out that the layout is different than the template. Need to figure out how to fix that.

For my 6 button Q4RAF (still have to confirm if the stick and button positioning is EXACTLY the same from on the 8 button Qanba template as the 6 button is.) Thanks to D3V for the Blazblue button configuration select overlay.

Thats alright, CS5 has PDF output, I’ve got it covered.
That font is sexy. Super sharing time?
i would love to share it but i dont have it as a font file. Each letter is an individual image that i drew up, I’m sure with some playing around in Photoshop you can recreate it.
I’m afraid I’m very far from Photoshop pro. Even worse with brush creation.
thanks mate, appreciated
Well I went ahead and created hi res punch and kick buttons. Includes Light, Medium, and Heavy flavors!
I had created some Punch/kick buttons a while ago, but i lost them when i lost my previous computer… i think i might still have a template somewhere with them on it. gotta look for that…
Would love to have this template to print out. Felicia one of my fav characters.
