Don’t really know why this conversation keeps popping up when Viscant, Spiderdan, and Dasrik (R.I.P.) have already said everything that needs to be said about MvC1 as a serious game.
The game has everything that casual/beginner/post09/noob fighting game players hate about MvC2 (god-tier characters able to kill you off a single throw/touch–then guardbreak and kill your incoming characters; characters able to lock you down and chip you to death forever), and none of the stuff people love about MvC2 (everything else–including depth).
The GGPO MvC1 community is also probably the single worst FG community ever to exist.
Yes, worse than losers playing SNES Killer Instinct on ZSNES and playing nothing but Cinder vs Cinder for hours a day.
Yes, worse than Skullgirls fans auctioning self-drawn hentai in order to finance the EVO drive.
Yes, worse than every pretentious, unwashed asshole 3rd Strike zealot.
Yes, worse than Arcana Heart fanboys who bought special editions for boobie mousepads and anime body pillows.
Yes, worse than wannabe MvC2 thugs pouring sugar in gas tanks and blatantly advertising ponzi schemes.
Yes, worse than that One Guy at an anime convention who wants to play nothing but stuff like Ranma 1/2, Asuka 120%, and Pretty Fighter.

what i was saying at the time B4 was around MvC2 was out, if it wasnt out though im sure more people would have played mvc1 a lot more. Im sure you can come up with a ton of flaws in MvC2 also.
That down FP glitch is no better then gambits glitch in MvC2
COTA MSH and XvSF arent fun to play for me. sure its neat to do a combo but fuck actually playing against people. mvc1 is fun to play against someone else cause its not about the combos anymore
XSF is only fun against if your execution isn’t ridiculous in it and both players are doing experimental combos off the top of their heads - aka, intermediate level play. Once you get into the advanced shit, it’s fucking nonsense.
Still better than the fucking mess that is MVC1. I don’t see how theirs is anything likable about MVC1. MSH has some goofy ass shit Throw techs taking meter but theirs generally more interesting things you can do in MSH than MVC1. MVC1 is a garbage ass game that only has good presentation.
ya mvc1 vs mvc2 is just a matter of opinion. A lot of people at evo and even when at B4 was around, people cheered and go nuts when they see a AVBX3 like they haven’t seen it a million times before. People might not like double war, but then you see people loving watching Duc or Clock work chip people to death. And if people play MvC2 now most of the time people pick team scrub, msp, or storm/sent 99% of the time. And people also act like snap back infinites are soooo fucking amazing. Its like really? You are using one, 1 fucking button to do a infinite man thats so fucking cool…
I didnt like the game, mostly cause its slow, and it feels really strange playing now, the combos are strange, and colossus is also one of the best if I remember, picking people up off the ground after combos, and his super armor is a pain in the ass to deal with. The game is really unbalanced as fuck. Rather play MSH, like spider dan said MSH is one of the most balanced fighting games, Shuma is number 3 best and he has counters. To me MSH like like ST a counter game
yes but people act like AVB is something so impressive, when really its not. To me AVB and HSF shit is no better then double war, which people look down on double war but not AVB or HSF
Dunno, I started learning MvC1 earlier this year and the more I learned, the more boring the game got. The more I got into MVC2, the more interesting it became. Sure it’s anecdotal, but that’s how I felt. Learning Wolv short strong infinite was fun but the game got stale fast. The neutral game, defensive game, and neutral game are all most interesting in MVC2 from what I’m grinding/learning. Like even that drama-queen DarkCloud on GGPO says that the game is boring to him. I’m surprised those niggas can talk so much shit and have so much drama every single day about the same exact things about the exact same game.
