To someone who’s never seen much of the Ong Bak movies with Tony Jaa, which is the best of the movies? Or the best movie with Tony Jaa in particular?
Part 1. Don’t even waste your time with the part two and three.
Imo
Ip man movies were good when it had donnie yen, the prequel one that was based on the woman who invented wingchun or some such got out of hand abit. It was cool to basically have her story then go into his story and then culminate with the introduction of a young Bruce Lee. The only gripe I had was that it was the same ridiculous ending where the character (bruce/IP) introduce themselves at the end and Ip man/ old woman given this same dumb ass knowing look like oh shit Christ himself has graced us, this nigga will take us to the promised land! I laughed hard the first time and even harder the next time they did it but overall the movies were good!
Another historical piece that recently got a face lift was the romance of the three kingdoms tv series that came out in 2010 I believe. Not the RedCliff Movies or the one starring Zhao Yun, it was another actual tv series and you can get the bluerays dirt cheap on ebay and they have excellent subs. totally worth the money. They pumped some money into these bad boys and it shows costume scenery everything was really well done.
lmfao that story sounds rediculous…since bruce was basically sent to karate bording school with ip man hahhaha.
Prequel with the woman who invented wing chun? Hope you arent talking about that old ass michelle yeoh flick.
What. The. Fuck.
Think you have the wrong thread my friend…
I’ve been watching a ton of martial arts movies lately on Netflix.
Watched the Ip Mans again, The Man from Nowhere (loved this), The Legend of Chen Zhen, Merantau and Raging Phoenix.
Any other Netflix suggestions are more than welcome.
Dragon has Donnie Yen its pretty decent. Its on Netflix.
I’m watching The Man From Nowhere. That little girl is wrenching my heart T__T
Grandmasters was beautiful.
She beat that dude up near the train and she didn’t even take her mink coat off.
And I enjoyed Ruroni Kenshin too.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
I got a bunch of kung-fu flicks to go through.
Just finished The Grandmaster. That movie was very surprising!
Is it on Netflix? The grandmaster i mean?
no one’s talking about crouching tiger hidden dragon 2 starring donnie yen or the 2 other films he has due out this year? and i dont mean Special ID which should’ve been released already or the Ice King, which most likely sucks.
donnie yens in it? interesting. i literally didnt know it was coming out so soon. i heard rumors of a sequal a few years back didnt know it was actually being made. i dunno, just not into wuxia anymore…but donnie is my boy.
See, the japanese version of Inspector Gadget is WAY better.
Shit, have they even started filming that yet?
