-The New Martial Arts Movie Thread-

Blood Money looks cheesy as fuck. The next Bruce Lee? :wtf: Speaking of Jeff Speakman…

Didn’t watch the video but i believe Vincent Zhao instead of Donnie Yen…Donnie has been known to be an asshole or guy with a huge ego…Cant imagine how awesome it would have been w/ Zhao & Yen going at it…

Had the sudden urge to watch this again

Ahhh Jeff speakmen. He had one awesome theater release movie(Perfect Weapon) that had everyone talking and then…direct to video HELL ever since.

Perfect weapon was pretty good with excellent fight scenes.

Shame.

Having seen RZA’s The Man With the Iron Fists, the story for the film is almost trash except I feel it was really trying to go toward homage of old school films, but most of the fight scenes were on point as was Russell Crowe in many scenes.

I heard the movie wasn’t that good…I still want to watch it, anglepalm you got this? Anyone??

Yeah I’ll still watch. Gonna see if I can recognize which old school films RZA pays homage to.

Trailer for The Grandmasters. It’s another Yip Man movie. Fight choreography by Yuen Woo-Ping.

Yo, in the latest issue of Black Belt magazine, they say the chinese/irish dude who played Ryu in the Sf x Tekken and Street Fighter Legends live action shorts is going to be in a movie where he plays some guy whose parents were killed in front of him, leading him to train in martial arts as he grows up to (of course) get revenge.

I can’t recommend you to pay money for it. Just wait untill you can rent it or see it illegally.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

Too many cut scenes so the fighting was very substandard.

fight short involving a friend of mine

Anyone watched a Korean movie called The Kick? Is it good? What martial arts movies released this year are worth watching, I may have missed out on some ^_^;

tai chi zero was straight, nothing to spectacular. my main thing is i didnt expect to get setup at the end for, tai chi hero. a few things you saw in the trailer are actually from tai chi hero, the sequel which was released like days after tai chi zero, and its suppose to be a trilogy that ends next year. i would say i enjoyed the fighting. not to sound sexist though, i cringe these days any time a girl is on screen to fight. they fucking suck so bad and are so unbelievable as fighters. you feel no impact at all. if you see tai chi zero, you can compare like an earlier fight between the doctor dude and the military leader, and you feel the impact compared to when the girl is fighting the main lead dude and it just feels like pitter patter.

the end of tai chi zero was kind of hype and im looking forward to some of the fight scenes in, tai chi hero. tai chi zero 7/10. i want more of 90’s yuen woo ping style martial arts flick, then this post crouching tiger hidden dragon garbage. all though this is better when it comes to the fight scenes then most new shit, its still not completely fullfilling. i guess there just arent a lot of young qualified martial artist who are also actors these days or something. i dont know

the kick is a family flick wit acrobatic tkd…aka tricking lol. its ok. nothing really special…its the fact their all from the korean tigers that makes the movie.

soooo i can already do the first half of these kicks…but the second half. dang. i never even thought of doing double leg front sweeps.

I wanna learn how to kick like that. especially the cassanova and the negative jackknife

i was surprised his jacknife was kinda blehhh compared to all the other strong basics. he clearly has hip flexibility issues, lol i figured out the best way to do a jacknife in the beginning is to do a fei long and just hook it.

just finished tai chi hero, the sequel to tai chi zero earlier today. it was better fo sho. the last fight scene was dope, and the setup for the third and last one, tai chi summit got me hype. it ended with one of the european bad guys taking the wounded ex fiance of the grandmasters daughter into this factory with a skull head as an entrance, and the last caption sets up with i think will lead to an awesome third movie with tons of ridiculous fighting.

my favorite character that only had a few minutes of shine was the drunk and wild monk. nigga was super powerful. kicked a fucking iron bell through a stone wall and just dipped. LOL. i hope he comes back

Where did you see it at Jimmy?
