does anyone know the title of this kung fu movie?
this is the description.
there is this guy, the hero of the movie…he’s in a full body cast, there’s something like a reference to a butterfly’s metamorphasis from a catipillar to a butterfly, signifying his change from how he gets leveled up from before he was in a body cast to post body cast.
there is some old woman that is always smoking a cig and has her hair in rollers, and her and her husband are landlords, i think but i’m not sure if they are the parents of the hero. not sure though. they fight kung fu against these mafia goons dressed in black suits.
the fight scenes are cgi like crouching tiger, hidden dragon…hero…house of flying daggers, kung fu soccer, etc.
hero gets out of the cast and is on another level than prior and he fights this kung fu assassin that is sent by the mafia boss…or maybe he’s the mafia boss…not sure.
anywho,
they fight, and the hero beats him, but doesn’t kill or seriously injures him, he like…converts him from the dark side, he like…at the end…does something like convert some weapon into a little umbrella, or pinwheel fan…and he lets it go and it flies away while the assassin watches and the assassin falls to his knees and bows respect to hero.

has anyone seen this movie and can tell me what this movie is called?
btw, its not set in ancient china. not a period piece.
more modern day. or maybe 1950s-present day.

your welcome.

Seriously?

That’s Kung Fu Hustle

Jackie Chan retiring? Jet Li said the same thing & he did like 6 more kung flicks…

Ip Man 3D, dont care for the 3D & im always down for some awesome action…I think the movie will be success if the kid playing Bruce Lee can pull it off…

Dis is Iron Fist!

A few days ago I finally, finaaaaalllly saw The Raid! (in great quality, you know where to go). Such an awesome experience, actually it was more like watching a horror movie than an action movie. It also may have been a little over hyped for me but I can’t complain, this is a classic for sure. Not quite the level of Hard Boiled I expected it to be in outrageousness and overall badassness, but then i know it wasn’t trying to be. This is a colder, darker movie than that was but its also a more mature level of martial arts and gunplay type movie.

Spoiler

I know they’re making a sequel with that defunct plot that was supposed to be the movie before this. But my question is how are they going to top mad dog or include him in it besides choregraphy? I guess the only answer to that is they somehow got donnie yen to be the main boss or got tony jaa in there to take it to the next level, but the raid outdoors is pretty good too.

HardBoiled, yeah thats what it reminded me of. And it was overhyped. Still interesting for it to come out in theaters. We need more movies like that to come to the states.

I still think Raid is the most enjoyable film i’ve seen in long ass time in the theaters…Not hype at all & cant wait for more Iko Uwais movies…

I liked him better in Merantau. But then I liked that movie better overall. I think the Raid could have had a stronger villain presence. Not two dudes getting their ass whopped by a midget. Granted dude was a bad ass midget lol.

Merantau i enjoyed the story more & the family values & journey to become a man really hit home with me…I was really impress w/ Iko but the fights didn’t seem that crisp compared to the Raid. Raid hit hard & dat midget was hard as mofo…Unlike in Merantau we got overacting white guys doing karate…Both films are great though & we can only hope the future of Iko will have quality films…Last thing we need is Indonesian films going bat shit crazy like those Thai films Ong Bak 5, the Protector of Elephant Thai Warrior

ok watched the raid last night at my gathering was mad hype. Guys loved it. what’s another crowd pleaser to watch, a movie you can talk and go crazy.

LOL! Yup Old Boy is one of the messed up movies that’s reserved for those masochist types out there
