Raid was good but it had too much elbows and not enough arm breaks to make it more realistic imo. Was still fucking brutal. Can’t wait for part two.
AXL- thanks for sharing “5 deadly venoms” I watched it the other day and thoroughly enjoyed it
I noticed that as well. Maybe the sequel will improve upon that.
The knife work was on point, but then dude just looses his blade and says fuck it. It seemed like they were unnecessarily extending fights when they could have just add more guys for cannon fodder which I would have preferred. I don’t think there was one wrist break in that whole movie either which I found odd cause I know Silat has a good amount of joint manipulation in it. Especially considering that something like that is basic in knife defense.
^Makes you wish you could tell the director.
Was tempted to watch that. Has anyone mentioned Flash Point?
I might have mentioned it in this thread a few pages back. If nothing else, watch it for The Suplex.
Accurate statement. The doorway kill was my favourite “OH SHIT!” moment. Dude got fucked up!
Just watched the first IP man. It’s a really good movie. I had no clue it was based on a true story until the last moment at the end of the movie.
Are the other 2 IP Man movies based on true events too?
I’m starting to watch a movie called Goemon and so far it seems pretty good. I don’t know why but I’m more into japanese action/marital arts films than the chinese/hong kong ones. Also, does anyone remember a movie called “Superfights”?
I watched the beginning of Goemon, but couldn’t get into it. I think the director’s name is Kiriya? He is or used to be Utada Hikaru’s hubby. He’s also responsible for the Casshern movie which was decent.
The live action Casshern? If so, yeah it was decent. Saw it once but never again.
So what happened to that Jeeja Yanin (star of Chocolate) movie “Jak Ka Ran/This Girl Is Badass”? That shit ever get released?

Did you guys know you could find entire martial arts movies from the good old days (90’s and back) on Youtube? I’m not talking about stuff in 10 minute segments, I’m talking The WHOLE movie, sometimes subbed, dubbed, or even raw available right there, like, hmm…Iron Monkey

Or…Dragon Tiger Gate

Pretty much all of the good stuff, like Jet Li and Donnie Yen’s old flicks, Tony Jaa’s stuff, all of Jeeja Yanin’s flicks: Chocolate, Raging Phoenix, This Girl Is Badass…and a couple of my guilty pleasures: both Guyver live action flicks.
I did not know this but thank you sir.
Just watched Old Boy expecting a slick karate movie… I feel dirty and awful now. Family video needs to put that shit in a different section.
