The NEW King of Fighters XI Compendium Thread

Well your English typing skills are better than many of the NATIVE speakers on this forum, so don’t worry about it.

As for combos, check the Word Document attachment in this post for KOF XI BNB combos to get you started:

Ash’s LDM combos are some of the more complex in the game and I don’t have much experience with him so I can’t elaborate, but most of his set-ups revolve around the corner of the screen.
They are very damaging but difficult to master, so good luck:

Thanks for the advice, I’ll start to learn BnB combos for my characters (I like Vanessa and B.Jenet, they’re very versatile but in my team I need a strong Leader and Ash’s LDM is very good because charge attacks are done faster). I saw Adelheid’s LDM, it’s amazing, like Oswald’s LDM! I shall use him as Leader but i don’t like his combo… It’s very difficult to choose a team… ^^’

I need to train more, I really like this game!

I’ll be happy to help you out the best I can send me a PM.

Very interesting vid here. It shows how Gato’s infamous :qcf::qcf::p: DM beats, trades, or loses to reversal attacks for pretty much every character in the game:

Is it 0 frame like in Garou MOTW? I don’t like this character, his LDM is a guardbreaker, DM are fast and punish everything, he charges super meter really fast… He’s very good, a good top tier

Definitely not zero frames. I’m pretty sure it can be beaten by just about any throw in the game, of course that needs testing.

But hey, just to bring life to the topic, I edited the first post with the correct new link to the SRK Wiki page and for fun I’m going to revise my personal tier list again:

S-tier ~ Kula (L+1), EX Kyo, Gato(L+1), Oswald(L+1)

A+ ~ Eiji, Geese, Duck (2P)
A-tier ~Duck, Jyazu, K’(L+1), Kim, Kyo, Maxima, Big

B+ ~ Clark, Ryo, Gai, Jenet, Kensou, Ralf, Shen, Terry, Yuri
B-tier ~ Adelheid (L+1), Ash(L+1), Benimaru(L+1), Duo Lon(L+2), Hotaru, Iori, Mai, Malin(L+1), Mary, Silber, Whip

C+ ~ Elizabeth (L+1), Hayate, King, Ramon, Robert, Shingo (L+1), Tizoc, Tung, Vanessa(L+1)
C-tier ~ Athena (L+1), Kasumi

D+ ~ Momoko

***L+# means the character rises by # rank(s) when made Leader. So Duo Lon made leader would go from B to S. Gato made leader becomes SS.
Explanation of Ranks:

SS–Monstrously powerful and cheesy; have the potential to wipe whole teams out.

S–Overpowered, but can still beaten with a lot of work. Solid characters who have a little added BS or cheesy feature.

A–Very solid characters who lack a little of the extra cheese or BS that S-rank characters have, or characters who may have weaknesses but excel very well in other areas to make up for it.

B–Nearly solid characters who have 1 or 2 glaring flaws that keep them from advancing higher. Middle road for XI.

C-Have several glaring flaws, but a few good points.

D-Have virtually no redeeming qualities, or too many massive flaws to overcome most matchups.

Couple of notes:

You may notice that the tiers are overall more compact. The more I play the game the more balanced the game feels, and the more potential I see in the lower-tier characters that were written out.

On the new tierlist, I got rid of the S+ and D-tiers. I even considered removing the (L+1) from Kula, Gato and Oswald, meaning there would be no one in the game above S.

Besides that, the only character who went down was Clark. As a Clark main since the very beginning, I felt it was warranted as I feel that he’s very good, but not quite solid enough to hang in the A-tiers, due to the fact that his game is reliant on the opponent being grounded and the fact that he’s limited in terms of his Quickshift options.

–Clark and Ryo I still believe are the best of the B+ characters and still can be argued to be A.
Everyone below Clark and Ryo are listed Alphabetically, because the differences in tiers below them are negligible.
–Big I considered moving down, but the problem is like most console characters there’s not too much play to determine his actual strength. He SEEMS like he should be A on potential alone.
–Terry and Yuri got promoted from B to B+. Yuri in particular seems to have a lot of untapped potential. Which is the main reason why I think the traditional tierlist is too outdate because there’s no way in hell she’s D-tier.
–Athena and Kasumi got promoted to C-tier. I don’t think anyone besides Momoko is quite bad enough to warrant a D-tier, but even that could just. Because those two got moved up, and I think Shingo and Robert are better, they got promoted to C+. Robert I may be underrating, though. I think he may warrant B-tier inclusion.
–The biggest jump was Mary from C to B tier. Since B-tier is the cut-off survival rate, this means she’s a tournament viable character. I can’t believe I slept on her. She’s actually got some good damage and pretty good supers, Straight Slicer is pretty safe and goes under a bunch of stuff.

Shiki I’m assuming you mean the console ver.? Arranged or Regular? What separates a ‘plus’ character from one in a regular lettered tier?

Regular only. I don’t think Arranged will ever be accepted as a mode for serious play.

A plus means that I can see that the character is sort of between the tiers.
C+ for example means that I can see that a character may have the potential to move up to B.
