He lacks something which is a special cancelable low B. But that’s it. Still has Ein trigger>Black Out which is damn useful like in 2000. And DG how could you not list his damage output? crB crA Heat Drive does a ton of damage. Reminds me of OG98 Kyo. And K’ having HH air trigger is good. I just need to check how safe that is on block.
The only thing I don’t like is his standing E. Doesn’t have the hitbox of the NESTS CD.
So, how do Mexicans play Tizoc? I’ve always played Tizoc and he always seemed to suck, but if an adjustment in style will make him more solid I’d love to know haha
i never really saw that many duo whores in japanese videos… i remember watching tourny vids of people using ralf very well… and also really good oswald and specially some crazy ryos…
i still play from time to time… i use clark, ralf & tizoc… with either clark or tizoc as leader… probably not the most strategic team but i am not really good at tag combos… i use ralf as my battery… and the damage from my individual characters makes up for it sorta imo… a non-fancy LDM does over 50% which is good enough for me… i don’t like any of the traditional LDM whore characters… i really like oswald’s style btw but he is too complicated for me… just hop A, s.C, f+B xx hcf+C xx running DM with clark is still my favorite combo…
metalmike31216: i’m no expert but regular clark style throw mind game works pretty good… but he isn’t really clark… more of a striker imo… his rdp+A is pretty good imo… i play rdp+C_D faint tricks sometimes too… and i love his qcfx2+D DM… soo good for comboing into specially if u pick him as leader soo much damage if u combo into LDM… i’m still more familiar with clark so he seems better to me than tizoc…
I couldn’t agree more especially on that judgment part.
DG: YYSU’s Tizoc is decent but I think given time and experience, people would have an easier time adjusting to a Tizoc player. I wish I had played more of YYSU’s tizoc but I’d say that yuhang’s gave me a much harder time. And this was when we used to play this everyday.
Yeah the damage output is what makes the tiers in this game though…the ones that do the best damage for the least amount of output. Yes The Arcade system is the one currently used and we here in the USA use the console characters sans Shion and Magaki.
Yeah if we get KOFXI UM (lol) I believe Judgment should be removed because boy have I seen some crazy stuff due to Judgment.
Well I forgot about K’s damage output.
Look up YYSU on my youtube channel or type in YYSU KOFXI for the youtube search and you will see, his style is different from other Tizocs I’ve seen here and even then not many people play Tizoc here so I knew he would catch many off guard.
Yeah you rarely see Duos in Japanese vids, a lot of KGO, Ralfs, Ryos like you say and some Kensous is what have seen, but the style of play overall is pretty standard to stuff I’ve seen most of the time. Ralf’s LDM is really good…and me neither I dont like the standard LDM whore characters either, but if I’m in another country I may use them for matchup purposes due to the fact that they dont play them how we do.
RJ would know about Judgment really determing things on KOFXI…geez that reminds me of RJ vs. Guero in KOFXI Teams at EVO…
See but the thing is you all probably won’t get that experience unless it’s at a tournament and most of the time see that’s too late. I applaud you guys at AI for “thinking outside the box” when it comes to playing characters etc, but you gotta realize most people aren’t that way. They’ll see the style for the first time at an international tournament (EVO) and by then the damage is done…it’s too late, you’ve lost.
Tournaments boil down to the people that have the most experience vs. as many styles as possible and can adjust the best, and if you’ve never seen that style before due to people playing a particular way using only a small percentage of the characters in the game (2% with KGO mainly) how would you know how to fight that style? Remember in YYSU’s rematch with Pepe he beat him 3-0, Pepe couldn’t handle it at all…so that’s another reason why I go to Mexico so much so I can get as much experience as possible prior to tournaments, because thats what’s gonna hold the most weight in the end…
Tizoc has some solid pokes, grabs, extremely annoying long range stuff (Dropkick, st.C [chop]), and quite possibly the most annoying is the RIDICULOUS invincibility frames on a well timed command grab. So good that it just eats gato HH j.D, and some DMs for free, there’s been several situation’s where he literally just invincibles through shit, only to just grab you for free.
He’s really not as bad as people made him out to be initially. Still nowhere near the top tier, though.
Yeah I’d say Tizoc is B at best…but still if he’s able to rank high (aka WIN) in a pretty high level KOFXI tournament (EVO) that says just how well balanced this game is does it not?
Some times it just takes peoples eyes getting opened before they appreciate the beauty of a game…
hey DG… what’s a tag combo i can use if i use ralf as my leader… with clark, ralf & tizoc as my team… i don’t know how to use his LDM outside of cr.C xx qcf~hcb+C xx qcfx2+AC…
DG, I know you liked the OTG grabs Geese has in 2002UM. I just wanted to let you know that he can do the same in XI. You gotta mess with it a bit but Geese can do his OTG grab after both his C and D throws.
Hmmm since that’s not really a combo team let me think up of something with them two and get back to you…I’ll test something out and get back to you with my latest findings.
Yeah I knew about that remember you told me online/Instant Messenger?
or i know how to use basic kula… so if nothing is possible with clark or tizoc then u can figure out something with her and i’ll replace her with tizoc but if u can find something with my current team then that would be preferred… thx
Its good to see the XI thread alive and kicking again…Especially since its the only game i still play on a daily basis
My new team these days is Terry, Silver, Malin (L) but i tend to sub in Shen, Gai and Eiji from time to time…but tell me somethin
Why does silver hurt so bad!? I love his damage out put, He stuns people well and he’s not a headache to play. Easy to quick shift off of and into as well… definitely a good addition to my team…Our throw down session is tomorrow night, i’ll try to get some matches recorded and posted
thanks… but is Ralf going to have enough charge just after the quick shift C? i haven’t gotten to try it yet… but if that works then can’t i substitute kula’s part of the combo with clark’s “hop A, s.C, f+B”??? imo should work the same…
oh and i found a 100% with ralf & clark using hop A, C xx qcbx2+D, QS Ralf C, d.C xx qcf~hcb+P xx LDM… wastes 4 DMs and 2 skill stocks but looks pretty cool imo… and also works the same with tizoc & ralf if i switch clark’s part with tizoc’s hop C, s.C xx qcfx2+D…
So yeah, I want to correct something with Tung…I believe all versions of his DP+K/E are ultimate juggles, but only the B version can OTG.
I’m really interested in seeing what people find with the NGBC characters, especially seeing as they’re legal and all now.
Big I think is the most underrated character right now. I think he has the potential to be A+. He’s not as stupidly powerful as in NGBC, but his pokes are still really good. He does big damage (almost Ralf/Maxima level damage) from really easy combos. Crouching D is quick, has range for days, and combos into just about anything.
I never believed Big was bad in XI, I’m sure that in the right hands he can be hard to get through.
The only NGBC char I say lost a lot is Hotaru. She has beastly potential in terms of combos and the fastest meter building in the game (qcb+B break). But she has little tools and mixup to handle anyone from high B-tier or higher. Also some of her combos could count as execution heavy, has a somewhat poor DM (can be used, but is still weak compared to others’) then there is her impossible infinite. If any1 could ever grasp that infinite, it would open up a new world of pressure strings.
st.C xx df+C, E, HH.D repeat.
the thing that makes it hard is that
1.) Hotaru can jump cancel her df+C, but only if a button is pressed at the same time as the jump
2.) Getting a hyperhop/short jump after the df+C is very hard because you have to to have the stick on the bottom half by the time the jump has started, which you have very few frames to do (maybe 3 at the most)
3.) The trickiest part is the timing for the E before you do the hyperhop, when you press E maybe a couple of frames before the jump, it cancels the need for an instant aerial to jump cancel the df+C, so you would have to pause slightly then j.D
Completely impractical, but looks like it could make for an annoying guard string.
