The New Fist of the Star/Hokuto no Ken thread

Was that 2 perfects in a row?

I realize that the game is broken,so what exactly can Sega Sammy do to fix the game(Or at least some of the characters)?

It looks like the game could use something like Guily Gear’s burst trigger for one thing.

2 perfects in a row? it was 2 100% combos in a row, as soon as raoh landed the first hit the entire round was already over.

From some of the talk here I get the impression people want the game kept this way for the PS2 port

I am 50/50 on it.

I would like the game to improve in some area’s,but I am not going to complain if nothing is changed from the arcade version becasue it will still be fun to pull off some of those combo’s,and to explore just how broken the game is.

This game will be great for the party crowd but,I’m not sure if it will ever be a large-scale tournament level game even with improvements.

Wish they wouldn’t wait until the 29th to release the game.Something like March 17th or more managable.

As I’ve said before, my personal stance leads me to believe that this will be like GGX1.5/+. It probably won’t be a release that goes out of its way to fix every glaring issue in the game (or maybe even none of them), but it does have some nice extras, and may even include a few new characters to keep things interesting.

I mean, did GGX1.5/+ really do anything to change the overall structure of the game? Probably not, but I do think that they at least made sure to remove a few of the glaring glitches in that release…

But ah well, we’ll find out soon enough…

Could somebody be nice enough to post Raoh’s Sai loop thingy? I’ve been messing around with him latley and he’s pretty fun.

Face me against my Juda and you will change you’re mind:nunchuck:

I use Raoh at times, but how do you his Air Charge Floating Punch?

^ Do you just hold C like Mr. Heart or is that only after you do his powerup?

Not sure, I tried doing that but it didn’t work!

Hold C.

Like the others suggested, you hold C. It requires a charge though (214+A).

I’d imagine that the tiers for this game are something like…

1)Raoh
2)Toki
3)Rei
4)Mr.Heart
5)Shin
6)Kenshiro
7)Souther
8)Juda
9)Mamiya
10)Jagi

???

I’m not probably 100% accurate, but it’s probably closer to this for right now:
**
S-Tier:**

Rei (Glitches ho!)
Toki (You know why)
Juda (Watch a few vids starring White’s Juda to understand)

A Tier:

Raoh

B Tier:

Practically everyone else

C Tier:

Jagi

Maybe Jagi’s supposed “100 hit” combo that will be revealed on the DVD may have what it takes to move him up to “B Ranking” with most everybody else. But there’s little doubt that Raoh, in spite of his magnificent combos, still pales compared to the S Tiers in the right hands. Though that’s not to say that a better Raoh player can’t still beat out a worse S Tier player, but such talk should go without saying in any instance when it comes to “Tier talking”.

Interesting.Juda is really better than Raoh,if we are talking about Tiers?Raoh and his sai seems pretty tough to beat from all of the video’s I have seen.

Can you possibly link some of White’s Juda videos?

I’m sure there’s plenty within this topic alone that you could find that would be of interest.

But to try and make things a lil easier for you, try watching the “casual series” between Ki’s Rei and White’s Juda. There’s 40 in all, and all of them are solid examples of why Juda and Rei are as dangerous as they are. Notice Juda’s 128 hit combo in the first match linked here:

And for the hell of it, here’s a link to the first of 3 duels between a nice set of kenshiro and raoh players.

That first vid was pretty rediculous.I’ve never seen Juda used like that before.

Also, something I noticed in the second vid.Not important, but I wanted to know at any point and time in the series does Kenshiro shoot fireballs or huge energy beams?

yes, though they aren’t visable fireballs and beams. more like he cut you with air

anyone know where to get last year’s SBO DVD? I only tried looking on play asia. no go.
