If your PS2 isn’t japanese, your obviously going to need a modded PS2 of some kind.
Arcade guide? I’m guessing you mean a strategy guide? The closest thing I’ve heard to that is the strategies published in Arcadia magazine. Nonoho translated some bits of that in his “Odds and Ends” thread over at Dustloop.
I forgot about the Aura Block, I should remember that, sometimes I do a standing A into AC or a 2+C with Juda to prevent that, but sometimes it won’t come out due to block stun.
I remember facing a very good Toki player when the game was first there, Im sure it was an AI local player since he had no problem with the sticks since he was performing DP’s with ease, he was a cool guy.
The only thing that makes Toki so powerful is just his teleport, without it he be just a C/B tier character.
There is an official Japanese Fist of the North Star guide, has lots of good info. I picked it up on ebay early last year though, not sure how hard it is to find now. Also DA GAME, if you hit me up on AIM(my aim name is Hydra632) I’ll show you where to buy everything you need to play import games on ps2. No soldering required.
Man, I used to play Raoh a while ago. I couldn’t get the hang of how to connect the crouching A after a spike. The timing is just wierd! Maybe in your case it’s because you are motivated by a very good opponent?
The release of Accent Core and Arcana Heart has officially killed this game. Seems White has officially retired his Juda as well. I guess we’ll never be able to see how far Hige could push Souther
I think it’s actually safer to believe that it’s more of a matter of the PS2 port finally coming out. Once (more) people are able to play this game within the comfort of their own homes (and not having to spend for more tokens either), interest will rise again.
Of course, even the novelty of being able to have that convenience may get old after a while. That’s why I’m personally hoping that Arc systems will pull an SNKP, by having an “Arrange” mode with fixes, more BGs, and maybe 1-4 more characters. :wgrin: Including the likes of that would be surely enough to garner attention from old heads, I’m willing to bet.
