some thoughts on the Abel matchup after our philly winter brawl tourney:
- st hp chop won’t get beaten by Abel’s jumpins
- low jab HHS, low jab ex splash on standing Abel is absolutely incredible
- don’t get touched by f+fwd
- try to just walk him to the corner and work from there
very nice st fp tip also jab hhs into ex hhs is gdlk and all abels follow a pattern
for shits and gigs try overhead on his wake up and late oicho or sumo splash
who all does jab hhs, jab work on? I could get hhs, lp to work on a few characters by not using the first jab and doing the hhs really deep but you’re not likely to get that kind of set up in a match

TROLL!!! lol anyway i was watching my vid that coolboy put up of his gief and i noticed i delayed jab hb through his jump in mk… so its kind of possible but… if he empty jumpxin he can spd u so i was thinking would mp or hp hb trade?
I was playing a rose recently and for some reason the last two hits from jab hands would miss sometimes. Even if I hit her with it a point blank, the last two smacks would miss. Is it because of her hit box or what?
Also, I’ve hit a wall and I can’t figure out how to ge better. I know most of the match ups and all of hondas trick but I feel that I can’t get any better than I am now.

Recently I’ve been playing better players and they are making rework my entire game play. My match up strategies aren’t working well and they made me look super free.
I just played a Sagat named tigeronslaught and he trapped me in the corner with tk string. Is there any other way to get out of it besides ex headbutt?
If Vega has the life lead, what is the most effective way to get in?
When Guile is trapped in the corner, should I just stay on the ground and jab hands or try oicho throw. Should I try and bait a flash kick.
Can I oicho Abel when he rolls?
In answer to your questions including your earlier one with Rose.
Rose - last hits of HHS do miss on standing Rose so dont bother with s.hk as it will be blocked (and ultra’d if they have it or reversales with EX Spiral). If you jump in on a badly spaced fireball, dont do jab hands straight out because you cannot do the s.hk for full damage, do s.mp (close 2 hit one), c.lp xx HHS (60 more damage) or if you are feeling your game s.hp (close) into jap hands for 100 more damage and it means you dont need to worry about not having the s.hk . Also on jump ins you can do c.mk xx HP headbutt for 300+ damage. please dont think she is a free jump though, she is not, but she does have the worst recovery on fireballs in the game.
If you get trapped vs Sagat EX buttslam can be a great way to escape too. You have to watch if there is a pattern in the strings first, but it does win most times, gives you a knockdown and gets you out of the corner.
If Vega has a Life Lead I move forward bit by bit on the gorund and with nj.fp to zone out any wall dive escapes back to the other side. Don’t rush as they will just leap from wall to wall or do the roll when spaced right for chip. Knockdowns are waht kill Vega, he has virtually no amazing options on wake up and its hard for him to run away.
With Guile, do not let him out of the corner and if you Oicho him you give him a chance to escape (Do it if its for the kill or as near as) an for really good Guiles start to pressure you with his corner game. Forget baiting flash kicks. If you space yourself at perfect range for him to eat AA headbutts and come in and out from there (depending on what he is doing) you should have more success.
With Abel you can Oicho when he rolls. Its easier to just normal grab him though as it comes out in 3 frames as opposed to 5. Where it can be useful is a kind of option select, when you have him cornered on wakeup. If you safe jump and command grab, if he ex or normal rolls you Oicho him (and it often auto corrects) if he stays put he gets Oicho too, and if he tries anything else you have a good chance of your safe jump winning - play as Abel in training and set HOnda up to knockdown, safe jump and Oicho and then try and counter with Abel. Its not 100% that you win all the time, but your options are good and most Abels want to get out with an EX roll from my experience.
If I got him in the corner, can’t he just keep me away with booms. If I try and neutral jump the booms, I’ll loose my charge and can’t anti-air a jump in.

it is her hit box. sakura also has this weird hit box.
for these characters, just use standing jab xx fp hhs instead of crouching jab.
(cr.mk xx fp hhs works on sakura but doesn’t work on rose)
no i can’t usually make it since i live all the way in san diego. yeb just happened to ask me to go with him that time and i was free.
wish i could go more often. great comp up there. and yes rufus is a bitch. i play with ken i all the time. worst part is that turtle rufus is even more of a pain in the ass than rush down rufus.
