ah damn you missed out, there was a promo code for 10 bucks off the 23.6" yesterday.
reguarding the test i did and if there was lag inbetween 1ms and 16ms, to be honest i don’t remember. most of the pictures came out really blurry since i don’t know how to adjust shutter speed on the camera i’m using, but the ones that did turn out usually matched. i’ll do another test and post the pictures up for you guys in an hour or so.
screw it, stupid pictures are way too blurry. no shutter speed setting on my camera.
one thing i noticed though when running dual monitors is that ggpo lags like crazy, especially when i move the window over to my crt. i guess 2 monitors is too much for my old 8600gt, looks like it’s time for a video card upgrade, which would require a power supply upgrade also.
I dont think so once it works fine with the CRT. Anyway, its a 8800gts and lots of people use it out there. But my problem with the text dominished a lot, using the cleartype effect on windows xp plus changing a few apearance options, and increasing the fonts size a little bit. Anyway i just remembered that i gonna struggle with a 22’’ monitor on rts games due the fact that the screens resolutions afect the mouses sensitivity. All the upcoming sc2 tourneys will probably be held with 19" monitors, so i need a monitor with native resolution of 1440x900, otherwise ill have to use different setups, 1680 for the desktop and 1440 for the game, and that sucks coz ill never get used to all that sensitivity changes. Lucky me, have found a buyer for this 22" already, then i gotta pick the Samsung T190, once its the very same shit as the T220 but its 19"
Hey guys did a bit of research and found a sweet deal on the Evo ready Asus monitors!
They have open box Asus VH226H monitors availble for purchase for 60 bucks off the regular price (not including shipping if there is any). As long as you’re fine with not being able to purchase a warranty/replacement plan for the monitor this is a sweet deal. Link below.
Yeah I was pretty much going to hit the GO button on purchasing it at the regular price plus a one year warranty for about 220. Then I figured why not go watch a YouTube video to see what it looks like out of the box. Someone posted a message on the video and I went a huntin. Glad I found it. They say they can’t guarantee the shipment will come with anything but the monitor itself since it’s basically a once owned product. As long as you’re ok with that and the person who boxed it at least put the power cable in there you’re good to go I say. If anything you can always return it back in 30 days if it’s not to your specifications.
Yeah I’ll post when it comes in. I can only remember one other time where I bought something open box and there could definitely be issues with something as electronically structured as a monitor. If I get a good one hopefully the rest of you will too. I need some good luck after those TE sticks that never came in.
Thanks to poonage and those who have helped with this thread. The information here is very important, and you’ve done a good job of presenting it simply enough, and of showing some solutions.
for anyone out there thinking about saving some money getting a hd fury gamer edition instead of a hd fury 2 . the fury 2 picture quality is way better (I ended up buying both ,got2 bravias that both lagged .
Oh and just so people know the open box Asus is no longer available for sale. Must have been a limited time sale and I guess whoever picked up on the sale last night got rid of the last bit of em. They still have the same model available brand new for 179 + free shipping and you can purchase a warranty.
