Well it’s been recommended by a couple of folks on this thread. Some say the VW246H has slightly more lag on average than the VH236H, but in and of itself there is no ‘perceivable lag’ and it is essentially ‘lagless’ as the definition goes; being that it runs around ~8ms and less; where 16ms is one frame.
Personally I’ve played on it and being sensible for lag, it doesn’t feel remarkably different from the VH236H. Again, take all anecdotes with some salt, but i’d be willing to put money on it being an excellent gaming monitor.
This would be like saying Budweiser could create a beer bottle that stops you from trying to fuck fat ugly girls when you drink too many beers. Excess lag is caused by how the monitor processes the signal once it leaves the game machine and enters the monitor. What ever programming magick capcom preforms on the game in no way can effect how the monitor processes the signal.
Adding to this point: It doesn’t work like Guitar Hero/Rockband. Those games have the notes already set in place and they never change, so they have a lag adjustment tool. All Capcom can do it make the window a little bigger for execution.
Had to cancel my Asus VW246H order, aparently they’re being discontinued and there’s no stock even within the dealers in Europe. What other, more recent monitor do you guys recomend with similar specs?
Does anybody have the asus vw246h or the vk246h and can you land your combos with these monitors or should i just buy the asus vh236h?o_O
I’ll be picking up the VK246H in a few minutes, will post later after playing around with it.
Thanks for the help
Well, played with it for a few minutes, everything seems ok. Managed to do Rufus’ 1f link and all, the monitor feels lagless, like my old CRT. Will test some more, but really, previous reviews all talk well about this monitor (or else I wouldn’t have bought it). Buy with trust.
Nice you think i should buy it ?
Don’t know mate, all I can say is that it seems a very good monitor for the serious fighting game player. It’s big and me and others don’t feel any lag whatsoever. Can’t really go wrong with these specs
Well i play first person shooter’s so it should be good enough i think i’ll just go buy it
Anyone have recommendations in the 50 inch range LCD TV’s? ive scoured these threads and they often go for smaller TV’s
Hey guys.
I am playing SSFIV AE PC version and i have a really bad delay when connecting my laptop to my HDTV via HDMI. The input delay is at least 0.5 seconds after button presses. This is my TV:
I am playing the game at max (without aa) at 1080p resolution.
What can i do to resolve this?
When i play on my laptop there is basically no noticeable delay in game.
well HDMI does cause some delay. but 5ms still isnt a full frame of animation. if it’s bothering you, try one of the other input connections to see if you’re getting the same result.
0.5 seconds not 5 ms. Thats like 30 frame delay.
sorry bout that. still, all i can really say is to check everything. though i believe it’s known that some Bravia models have tons of lag, although im not sure which ones do and don’t.
hi there,
i want to buy a new monitor which must be very low input lag , these are selling in my area and i need some suggestions.
