its 2011, so any HDTV about 42inches that has not lag?
Going to best buy and testing the the l32x3. It has the same specs as my l32x1 but does 1080p. Wait was the l32s1 was a alpha ips panel that did 1080p but I think it had 120hz refresh right? If that is the difference and the 2011 x3 doesnt refresh we might have another beast! Dont hold ur breath though lol

Has anyone ever lag tested the Phillips PFL5405?
According to a post I read on a forum (yes, I know, questionable veracity), the lag is ~16ms (probably closer to 30ms) and it is capable of full 4:4:4 color reproduction over HDMI, a rare quality in many HDTVs. It sounds like a winner, but I don’t want to put money down based purely on a single forum post.
Another, more recent, TV that I’ve been looking at is the Panasonic DT30. It seems like a spiritual successor to the LZ800 (one of the fastest, if not the fastest, consumer LCDs available). So, if you’re planning on testing some TVs at the store, or already own one, a lag test would be much appreciated.
I own a 37PFL5405. Lags like hell in SSF4 (don’t know if smaller 5405’s also lag). However, when playing Tekken 6 / DR you don’t feel any lag. I can break throws, do things like CH df2, EWGF etc. easily. Same with MvC3. Basically, if your main title is SSF4 - find another TV (for example Philips PFL5604/PFL5624, which is A LOT better than PFL5405).
Finally! Any ideas on the kind of tests you’re planning on doing?
Thanks for the information.
I’m not a Tekken 6/MvC3 player, so I’ll presume that what you mean is that by the nature of the games, there is no** perceivable **lag in those games, while SSF4 is much more sensitive to lag, and so you do notice it in that particular game. You’re not under the belief that the actual input lag inherent in the TV varies from game to game, are you? Because that wouldn’t make any sense. It would have to be another factor causing the lag.
Flat Screen TVs and Xbox 360 lag
Hi,
Just got a new LG Flatscreen and I noticed that there’s lag when I play on my Xbox 360. I’m not even talking about playing on Xbox Live. I think it’s the new TV itself that’s causing the lag.
Is there a fix for this? Do I have to get a different TV for playing Xbox? or can I do something with the Xbox or TV to correct this lag issue.
Thanks!
From the thread that Mr. Mortified pointed you at - Most new TVs have a game mode that reduces the post-processing that the TV does to the image. This can reduce the lag, and give you a better experience. Also, most tv’s don’t process images coming in via the VGA port. If you’re using the HDMI port, you’re possibly going to find it better if you try the MS VGA cable.
When I play games like COD or SSF4 I use my LG 37 inch LH5000/LH5010
it has 2/ms Response time!!
^
I believe the op is referring to input lag, which is not related to response time.
Like Eben said i would try a diff input like vga and see if it has game mode that is functional. Some game modes aren’t really game modes and just adjust the picture. If that doesn’t work return it and search AVS Forum… lots of good info on input lag for your next purchase if the input lag bothers you too much.
Merging with the proper thread.
Of course, it’s the matter of those games nature (no tight links etc.).
I’m still looking for a good gaming monitor, mainly for SSF4. What do you guys think of Samsung P2370HDS (monitor with a tv tuner)? I played on it for a while, and it didn’t seem to lag, but I wasn’t able to do any kind of lag-tests (be it a “lcd vs crt” or simply a practice mode session with 1fr links).
Links are rhythm. The issue with input lag is reacting to onscreen information, or rather, the information onscreen being what is actually being processed at that moment.
Once again, for a monitor with negligible lag, go Evo.

camera that does 60 frames per minute! Everything is being provided by best buy lol. tada!
@CLU 2 by “a practice mode session with 1fr links” I meant checking things i SEE when to do on my lovely CRT:P and can compare it to other screens. I can’t “go EVO”, it’s unavailable in Poland, and importing it is just too expensive.
I’m getting a big screen tv strictly for SF. I’m looking at getting the LG 50Pv350. What do you guys think about about this model? Are there other Samsung or LG TVs that you guys recommend for fighting games?
Is the Lg 47ld450 the best option atm? how is it different from the 47LD660 and 47LD451?
Trying to replace my crappy CRT with a HD monitor. I was gonna pick up the evo monitor (AW2210) but I can’t find any deals on it. Anyone know of any laggless monitors cheaper than $300?
The Evo2009 monitor is up on newegg for $145 after rebate. Newegg.com - ASUS VH236H Black 23" 2ms Full HD Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ Speakers 300 cd/m2 20000 :1 (ASCR)
