would the larger size ld450 work just as well? Very interested in getting a 40" plust tv now
Give that thread a read just to verify but from what I’ve read, I’d say yes. xxLD450 models all seem to share the same specifications other than the obvious difference in screen size.
Since the PS2 and PS3 use the same composite/component cables, is it possible to use that PS3 VGA cable to play PS2 games on an HDTV lagfree? Thanks guys.
Im very interested in buying this TV seeing as my CRT just crapped out on me.
Umm, what kind of setting changes did you have to make? did you lower to 720p? is there a game mode. Im kinda interested in exactly what you did to get the lowest input lag.
So I’ve been reading, and I can’t seem to find how exactly to test monitors. I have a couple unaswered questions as well
I want to purchase a 32-46 in, pref a 40, so I can game and do other isht on it as well. Im seeing everything thats being said about the frames but I’m not sure what tv spec that matches to. I know I’m going to need to test it myself, but if I order the tv online, I’m not going to be able tot est it until it comes, and the last thing I wanna do is have to send back a humungous ass tv. Is there any possible way to get an idea of whether there’ll be input lag just by reading specs?
And if response time does not mean there is or isn’t lag, what is response time measuring?
This thread definitely deserves a Sticky
After reading a review of the Panasonic P50VT20 (Panasonic TX-P50VT20/ TX-P50VT20B/ 50VT20 3D TV Review) I decided to pick one up and test for myself. Using Rock Band 2’s automatic calibration, I got 30 ms of lag. Using Guitar Hero World Tour’s manual calibration, I got 0 ms of lag. The review says that the TV has 17 ms of lag. I don’t have any better method of testing lag myself on this tv. Any suggestions on getting a more accurate test would be helpful. So far I am happy with the tv though.
I have the older 2009 model (P50G10) and during testing, I made sure I had the video mode on custom (THX is also suitable) and turned off all enhancements. My method was similar to Shinshoryuken’s method from the original hdtv lag faq. We concluded that my set had 1ms lag compared to the venerable Asus evo monitor ~0 ms lag. Not bad for a 50 inch plasma! If your console is connected via hdmi, make sure your video setting on console is at 1080p to match your tv.
Samsung - 32" Class / 720p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV - LN32C350D1D
I bought this, and have guitar hero 2. With the lag test im getting 0ms with the game mode on and off. I once got 4ms with game mode on but that might have been my strumming. That was once, I have done this 15 times and the rest have been 0ms
And yes it says calibration successful, not try again because it couldnt get a reading. Also note, my xbox 360 is hooked up through an hdmi cable, 720p.
I figured I didnt need 1080p cause I sit 5 inches from my screen lol
OK OK, bottom line, I want a 40-something inch TV with minimal lag in 1080p, what’s my best bet?
I’m looking into getting a projector. Is there any lagless ones? The best I could seem to find was the PT-AX200U and that one is about 1.5 frames of lag. Anything lower than that I’m not aware of?
No changes made, actually. The TV naturally has a low input lag.
Did you get a IPS panel?..
Yes, I got the IPS panel. IPS panels seems to be more common now, at least that’s what I gathered from the recent replies.
PS. The price went down randomly a few days ago to $350 for a few hours then shot back up. I called Amazon while the price was still down and they price matched it for me. Good on them and now I’m even more satisfied with the TV.
I am very interested to see the answer to this gentleman’s question, if anyone could answer it’d be swell.
As of now, I can only recommend the bigger variations of my new TV, especially since it’s one of the only few TVs that has gotten tested thoroughly/objectively for input lag, at least in terms of 2010 LCD TVs.
“The xxLD450 has a measured input lag of 1-2 frames (16-32 ms). Input lag test results can be found here: link. This makes the xxLD450 one of the best 2010 TVs (if not the best) when it comes to low input lag. Most other TVs have a minimum of 3+ frames (48+ ms). This based from my own input lag testing of several sets”
Are there any decent LED LCD HDTVs 40-plus inches?

Sharp Aquos LC46LE820 aka Sharp Quattron LC46LE821. 19ms input lag in game mode.
I did look at Sharp, does the same performance hold true for the LC40LE820?
