Hell yeah. You find that price online?
Naw, a friend might sell it to me, but he is thinking about keeping it though. So it is used. Don’t know if 300 used is a good price for that.
i really need to know if this is a great tv as far as not having much lag and having excellent picture quality. help?
I think this is it, I could be wrong though. I’m pretty sure I’m wrong.

hey thanks for the response, I appreciate the videos, just two quick questions. What do you mean by “everything turned off”? and is there a difference depending on the size of the TV? (im looking to get the 50 inch version).
I really want to say that a different size TV of the same model series shouldn’t be any different, but your results may vary. Also, “everything turned off” means any type of image processing, including C.A.T.S./blur reduction/comb-filters/Video NR/auto 3:2 pulldown/etc. You want all of those disabled while in Game mode.
Really simple question from a non tech talk head…
Does every 1080p monitor (Benq, Asus etc, not a TV) with an HDMI connection have 0 lag when playing with a X360 using an HDMI cable?
Im going to buy a 21inch Benq 1080p monitor (can post specifics if needed) if this is the case. I just want to play 0 lag games and the Evo monitor is a hassle to get here…
Please answer if you can, I know it’s a n00bish question but this means a lot to me and I’d genuinely apreciate any help…
and yeah I have tried searching and talking to technical people (I work in a video game studios ffs and nobody here can say for sure either…)
I really dont want to be a sap paranoid about phantom lag! thanks!
Noob question: From what I understand, If I play using vga and set the resolution to 1080p since my TV’s native resolution is 1920 x1080, I should reduce lag?
short answer is no TEO, in fact all LCD tv’s will have some amount of input lag(even if it’s less than a frame the only way to go truly lagless is to buy a crt monitor).
In Other news:
i just got my Amazon.com: LG 42LD450 42-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV: Electronics: Reviews, Prices & more
and it is truly as awesome as they say it is on the avs forums(lg and panasonic utilize the IPS panels which in the way they display things in game mode puts them as close to lagless as you can get wiht out going crt).
i don’t get the Hz part…whats the diff between 60Hz, 120Hz and 600Hz? seems like most ppl are recommending 120Hz?
that’s the refresh rate of the screen.
edit: same concept as computer monitors.
Thanks for the help mate. So then how is the Evo monitor lag free then? I´m talking about a monitor, not an LCD TV.
This is on the first page of the thread.
I am confused.
I think im just going to buy an Asus VH22T, fuck it, I reckon an HD monitor with HDMI input should be good.
Really it depends on the panel type. Cheapo computer monitors are TN (low lag, worse colors) panels. TVs and expensive computer monitors are generally IPS (laggy, better colors) or some kind of proprietary panel. This isn’t a hard and fast rule as there are IPS monitors available with low lag. Generally, though, you’re ok with a recent TN panel as far as I can tell.
Anyone know if viewsonic hd tvs are generally low on lag?
cool thanks again
No, not necessarily.
See above answer.
Posted this in another thread, but probably more appropriate for the subject here;
I can’t play fighting games on the PS3 due to no internal hardware scaler and they’re all 720p. No lightning fast 720p to 1080p converters?
the latter. ps3 has no internal hardware upscaler, the 360 does. this is why we need a bit of hardware to scale 720p to 1080 lightning fast so we can use our TVs properly
What you guys think about this test ?
Is it legit?
I heard what laptop sometimes have ~0ms input lag.
I just wanna buy VW246H, but can’t find any real tests beside this one.
Thanks.
Is a test with a Laptopscreen reliable? Don’t you need a CRT Screen to see if there is an inputlag?
