The New Definitive HDTV Lag FAQ

My question is if the 42ld450 is any good.
Marca Model Standard Game mode
LG 42LD450 20 ms 17 ms

Rockman X said that he was returning it but never stated how bad the lag was. Any owners of this tv can vouch for it?

Yo has anyone heard or tried out the eleganto eye tv device to connect your mac or macbook pro to PS3/xbox360???

But should a macbook pro mac book screen be lagless??? Im going to try this out on my macbook pro and Imac monitor.

Here’s a separate post from avs forum about this:

Input lag wars!, post your input lag results of your LCD display here for refrence - Page 66 - AVS Forum

The 32 inch model apparently has 1-2 frame input lag.

Does anybody know the input lag of a Sony Bravia 720p 60hz KDL32BX300? I would test it out myself but do not have guitar hero or cables to test it out.

I’ve used the Elgato Hybrid USB stick with my 1st Gen 2006 Macbook Pro, and with that combination, things lagged noticeably. It’s not your macbook pro’s monitor, it’s most likely the product.

I don’t know if things have changed in the last 4 years to suddenly make it lagless, but I have my serious doubts. Still. It’s does make for a good portable set up for non time sensitive games (RPGs) and it also makes a good makeshift capture card too. But yeah, my experience tells me it’s not good for time sensitive gaming.

Ok im going to place my order tonight…

Im either getting the
Panny TC-L32X2 or the LG 32LD350

Which one would be best to get in terms of input lag…

don’t get the l32x2. l32x1 is the way to go if you can find that.

Werent they suppose to be the same?

someone here tested it. gotta find that post.

Edit: err…can’t seem to find it. At least i think someone here tested it. I might’ve seen it on another forum.

Anyone?

BENQ E2220HDP TFT

Im thinking of buying one today. Any feedback would be appreciated. Im in Spain and havent got the tools to do any proper lag checks. Seriously any help will be seriously appreciated, I dont want to throw away 130 euros.

Are you talking about the Sony Bravia?

Panasonic TC-L32X2 appears to have around 33ms input lag. About 2 frames.

Is this good or bad? Where did you get these findings?

Evo monitor has 8ms input lag. Half of a frame of lag. 33ms bad.

The tests were done against a CRT monitor. I can’t post any pictures because I didn’t do the tests. I played on it then told the guy who tested it what I thought it felt like, he then told me what the lag was.

I said it felt a little slow. Movement was funny, almost like playing online. Something like 1-2 frames, probably closer to 2. He said it was 33ms(which is 2 frames) after I said that.

Referring to Rcaido’s post about the Pana L32X2

Was game mode on?

You can get HDMI switch boxes at mono price pretty damn cheap, I use one on my TV and its great. Audio/Video Switch and Converters

There’s enough non-cited ‘evidence’ here. Please provide a source.

For what it’s worth, I own the TV and that sounds almost right. I’m surprised you think that low of a lag figure is like ‘playing online’. It’s off slightly but nowhere near as bad as some sets and emulators I’ve played on.

Ohhh that’s cool. Thanks a lot man.
