Has anyone played street fighter on this thing yet? Is there noticeable lag?HORI-USA
hopefully somebody answers this. i need to know, too.
also, the tv should be 120Hz and not 60, right? what is the difference? i don’t know shit about tv’s except that i’ve been procrastinating on getting a new one for a long time.
i want a 40" or 42" 1080p tv that has the least amount of lag and the best picture quality that you can get for around 5-650ish.
Well one thing, is it doesn’t do 120hz which means movies wont look as good as they do on other tvs. This is possibly also last years model or some such, so you get a good deal.
I don’t know where people are getting this idea from. Going VGA will reduce lag only if the TV, by design, doesn’t do image processing on the VGA port. If it does, then using the VGA port won’t reduce lag. It varies on a model by model basis. There is no general answer to that question, but don’t buy a tv thinking that a VGA cable is going to solve any lag issues.
oh okay thanks!
How is the VH242H in comparison to the VH236H? There’s also a bunch of other people asking the same thing in this thread, with no solution. I can’t find any comparisons online besides one, which claims the former has 5ms r esponse time and the latter has 2ms.
Any owners of the VH242H? How does it compare?
So from what I’m reading a few pages back, the following models are very similar to each other in terms of input lag? Even with the other one being bigger and all.
VH236H (EVO Monitor. No lag pretty much)
VW246H
Right now, they are about the same price, maybe $15 price difference, though the Evo monitor WAS on sale like a week ago with free shipping from a lot of stores for $160 after rebates or something.
Though I’m tempted to buy the VW246H, due to it being a tiny bit bigger than the Evo monitor, for almost the same price, I’m kinda wanting more than 1 HDMI input. I googled if there were monitors that support 2 HDMI inputs, but they say they normally don’t, and it’s the TV’s that have the multiple inputs.
So are there flat panel TVs with more than 1 HDMI input, and still lagless like the monitors listed above? Let’s compile a list of zero lag monitors/TVs, and at least give an update. Because it’s been a while now, and we’re pretty sure evo monitor, and a few others are really really good ones to choose from haha
Hey guys !im going to be honest im lost on input delay tech talk an such but im looking for a good cheap screen only for use with xbox/ssf4 . i bought a cab from krey and i am getting everything else together.

i ve had trouble finding something thats 32 inches and just plain cheap but effective. I would appriciate any good info sent this way…
I would recommend the Panasonic Viera TC-L32X2. It has an IPS panel for excellent viewing angles, free shipping, and no tax FTW!
Amazon.com: Panasonic TC-L32X2 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV with iPod Dock: Electronics
I personally us a 32" Sony Bravia, but if I were to do it all over again, this is the model I would choose. :wgrin:
wtf 370 dollars?!?!?!
seriously f america when it comes to prices this cheap
thanks bro ive heard both bad and good from the bravia though but ill look into the panny, did u buy a krey kit also?
No, I haven’t ordered one of those kits. Looks cool though! :wgrin:
Don’t see it even in more buying options. Looks like Amazon is sold out of it.
Earlier in this thread I found these posts pretaining to the X2 series:
Are the X2 series panasonics no good compared to the X1s? My local lan center is buying some new tvs and they want to get ones that all of the street fighter players can live with but he doesnt want to get monitors as small as the evo monitor. Right now they’re dead set on some 27" inch monitors that are about 17ms input lag so I’m trying to find something in the 27"-32" range that have minimal input lag because 17ms is no good fo me. The X1s sound great but, they’re discontinued so I’m trying to find a replacement for it. Are the X2s no good? I can’t find any lag tests online and all I see are contradictory statements. I’m googling like a madman.
I saw a guy on AVS forum saying he didnt notice the difference between his sony WEGA CRT and the X2 when playing marvel, tvc and ssf4 (no definitive lag test though)
The VW246H is pretty good monitor for the price. I bought it last January and use it for my PC and PS3 with DVI and HDMI. I don’t have access to a crt monitor to test out the dreaded lag that everyone talks about.
There is one things that I don’t like about this monitor, which are the speakers. The speakers are located at the back of the monitor and just don’t sound right. Therefore, I had to buy a pair from amazon to connect to the available port.
Just out of curiosity, does anybody know what causes more lag (if any)?
A 360 upscaling SSF4 to 1080p
or
A 1080p TV running at 720p to accommodate the PS3 output?
I apologize if this has been asked/answered somewhere in this thread already.
Hey Kelter, i think you hit the nail on the head with what I am looking for. I’ve done a LOT of research on the web in regards to the X2 and X1 and can only find proven info on the X1. I’ve gone as far as to call Panasonic twice and get 2 separate case #'s to get specific detailed information on the difference in input lag (either by post-processing) or whatever. They’ve told me that they will forward to advanced tech support but I have yet to receive any response. I hope they are the same because I am really looking to purchase this set for SSF4 and after seeing all of my friends suffering from TV lag, I don’t want to waste money on a TV and go through that.
Hey everyone, I don’t know too much about computer monitors, but I guess from what I’ve read they’re better to use for games than an HDTV, so can someone tell me if this monitor would be good for my Xbox?
Just a quick question: Can PCs lag?
