The Netflix Thread

Yeahhhh the artwork wasn’t the problem :joy:

Uhhhhh after reading the premise of the show why in the fuck did anyone think thats a good show to make?

In other shitty news im about halfway through season 3 of “Dark” and I’m mad disappointed.

It’s a movie. It’s French. Any questions you have should be answered by its French

Netflix in order to operate in some regions by laws there plus appeal to their audiences HAVE to produce and air local films/series from those regions.

Some executive probably looked at the acclaim and didn’t bother learning the premises or watching when they were buying the rights.

Oh yeah the TV series Person of Interest is leaving Netflix on September 22. For any fans like myself that need to finish a rewatch before it is gone.

Well, a lot of states were kinda the same deal not that long ago in the U.S. Some states had the age of consent as low as 14 (Kentucky for example; Georgia was 16 for a while too) for a long time. It wasn’t until fairly recently that we started bumping that number up even in this country. At least in my grandparents’ generation (the parents of the “boomers”), I don’t think it was out of the ordinary for a man to be marrying a girl that was about 16 or 17…even at that age girls were already seen as “young women” at the time.

It’ still surprising to me that Netflix was ok with this movie being on their service though…and I will enjoy every bit of this latest dumpster fire we can all laugh about.

If anything this movie shoulda been a region locked thing. We prob wouldn’t even have heard shit if it was. Lol

Well based on what im reading the movie is critical of child sexualization, so no I’d say it probably should be shown here considering how this year has gone down with Pedos everywhere.

I am not okay with this…

I almost forgot, surprisingly—yesterday was the day; the return of Lucifer for season 5! I’m not the type to binge that much though so I’ve only watched the first episode of the new season.

Finest piece on the show— for me it’s a toss up between the hispanic girl (Aimee Garcia) and “Maze” (Lesley Ann-Brandt). “Eve” was smokin hot too last season. The lineup of fine ass on this show is strong.

So there’s a new video game documentary miniseries called High Score. I just put on the fighting game episode, and this narrator calls them “fight games”. Wtf.

A lot of Netflix documentaries are bullshit tbh. There is one about glass blowing that my brother in law, his glass art teacher and several class mates helped with. When they saw the screening of the documentary all of them were beyond pissed due to how inaccurate the info was

Man, I saw that ad for the High Score documentary as one of my recommendations. So it’s a bunch of BS then? Sad.

Anybody remember All Your History Are Belong To Us? That was a damn good webseries. Or at least throw some money at the Gaming Historian. That guy also does some kickass research.

Ended up finishing the episode and yeah it was pretty shitty and a lot of reviewers say the whole series isn’t very comprehensive and there’s a lot of jumping around.

It started with a little history of SF2 and MK, including interviews from the creators, then it jumped to esports and introduced a SF5 esports team in Japan lol.

I’m up to episode 4 or 5 on Lucifer… that “Noir” episode was cool, man… I love when shows do that and commit to the theme for most or all of the episode. They had the mannerisms and certain speech cadences done perfectly to match a movie from that time period…it was great. haha Aimee Garcia dressed up as some male character was unexpectedly hilarious to me.

In the beginning at the first few episodes of season 1 I was only so-so on this show but it quickly turned around for me, and I can’t get enough of it now.

I finished binge watching Lucifer season 5…

Summary

Kinda disappointed that the whole Michael angle was blown up after like a couple of episodes. Nothing left for the character than just being a conniving shithead for the rest of the season.

Maze being deceived so easily by Michael was also kinda out of nowhere.

I also kinda called the plot twists at the end of the season (reporter guy being the serial killer, Michael being the one who kidnapped Chloe), so I dunno if I became good at looking into it or it became predictable?

While being a fine piece of ass when the series began, I think Lauren German is hitting the wall kinda full force.

God cameo at the end got me pretty hyped doe

Dragon’s Dogma trailer…

At least it isn’t as ugly as the Berserk anime.

That Japanese 3D anime shit needs to die. Shit is almost always distracting

I absolutely hated the Topo v. Dorian fight in Baki cause all of Topo’s movements were that 3D animated style and it was so god damn jarring
