@maxx Yes and no. He said he was surprised by how much people hated the movie saying they just need to look at it as a “what if…?” Instead of an actual entry to the series.
But He also said that while they were working on the script and filming he was brought in to oversee and collaborate with the writers, products and directors he was basically ignored and had very little input on what actually happened in the film.
Years later he admitted he never should have given permission to make a live action adaptation and tries not to think about it due to how upset everything about it makes him.
I just finished Bojack. I have to give them credit for not making everything hunky dory at the end. Also for not doing what the penultimate episode was hinting at.
When I first heard about the show, I thought it would be a silly family Guy type of show. I’m glad they transitioned to a dramatic approach with comedy.
The only stuff I’ve seen Will Arnett in is this and the 2014/2016 TMNT films. Funny that a cartoon horse is more realistic than a live human in those movies.
I would have liked to see Gina interact with Bojack in the last few episodes but I have no big complaints.
Compared to most other Netflix shows, this one has the most consistent level of quality throughout.
Daredevil and Punisher would be second but those were only 2-3 seasons long.
Agree with everything you said here. The way it closed was somber but showed there are consequences for your actions. You can have an everlasting impact on a person’s life (positive or negative) even when you don’t mean to.
I’m on SE1EP5 right now. I absolutely love it. I’m a huge fan of the particular comic book run the series is based on. So I may be slightly bias.
The humor is dark and it doesn’t shy away from sensitive or controversial situations. A lot of people bitched about it being heavily “anti-men” but it’s really not, IMO.
I mean the source material for this Sabrina-Verse and the show are both written and in the shows case written and produced by a man, ffs. Lol. Out of the key behinds the scene people I can count on one hand how many women there are. Most of which are editors and cinematographers. Out of five executive producers for the show only one is female. So that reasoning for disliking it is total bullshit. Lol.
A strong woman or strong women who don’t need men to solve all their problems isn’t anti-men. Shits clown shoes. Go watch Joker.
You should read the 12-issue 8-Issue comic series the Netflix show is based off of. It’s superb.
Edit: I just looked. A lot of sources say it’s still ongoing but it’s last issue was in August of 2017. So? Maybe because the HC Collectors edition was printed in 2019? Idk.
“Who killed Malcom X?” was crazy. Hearing X’s right hand man, the same guy who gave him mouth-to-mouth as he lay dying was an informant was WILD.
And the dude who allegedly fired the kill shot with the sawed off got off scott free & had his records sealed by the FBI, potentially making him an informant as well…WOAH
y’know, that’s always a fascinating thing to me, just generally speaking… when notable people in history were assassinated, and the theories about who was behind it and why…the mystery of it all tends to continue on for decades after it happened. It’s surprising that there hasn’t been one on JFK in quite a while, at least that I’ve heard of.
