The MvC3 Hulk thread

MODOK says EDIT!

Likely

Unlikely. For one, he doesn’t have j.HK. His j.C is his old j.HP clap. But I did see someone call an assist and airthrow the character directly into the assist. Completely by accident, of course.

Yeah, that might be the case. Still, Hulk has no tri-jump, so realistically you’d never need to block high against him. I’m worried that it’s gonna be very character-dependent, though. And that’d he have to be right next to the opp to jump over them.

Dear god, that is a brilliant idea.

Loving how Unity thinks that just because he does 75% damage to an assist of a hyper in X-Factor, he’s top tier now.

Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible

Unity Forums should be nuked, closed, and abandoned IMO.

TvC has plenty of reset potential, what are you talking about?

Pretty much everything to do with Karas, PTX, Polimar, Zero, Alex, Casshern, Yatterman-2 was full of resets…not to mention baroque was a lot more reset-friendly than Xfactor due to it being more common during a match.

of course, MvC3 has even more in the way of reset potential and abusable assist-related gimmickry, but don’t go making it sound like TvC is short in that field now, because it isn’t.

one thing I love about MvC3 compared to TvC though is the abundance of actual chip damage. That makes me happy as a pig in mud.

Resetting in TvC wasn’t really that effective, and for most characters required BBQ (which did have a tactical use in the long run). That’s all really. It just doesn’t have as strong a presence, yeah…most of the time you really don’t WANT to reset, unless you’re Karas…poor guy. Y2K (like Zero) really doesn’t NEED to reset either, but doing that for a level 3 setup was so good…mmm…

I kind of disagree there. Yatter-2 did such abyssmal damage on her own that resetting was generally something she had to do - her most damaging combo is in fact a series of polimar-assisted resets off her unblockable in the corner. FYI yatter-2’s damage is much worse than Karas. Karas only ever bothers with resets because he’s capable of doing very fast cross-unders mid combo and can set up into unblockable > combo with the right assist and baroque. And yes, you always wanted to reset if you were Polimar (combo into air throw super reset), PTX (combo into UB missile reset into another combo/lv 3) or Alex (snapback into unblockable) and Casshern also had one he could reliably set up even though it wasn’t his best option after starting a legit combo.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Marn reset fairly often when he played Zero? I could have sworn that assist > command dash through came up a lot.

Another thing I noticed about MvC3 - setting up an unblockable trap or reset after a character KO is less friendly than in TvC, since the opponent is allowed to attack the moment they jump in to arrive. Characters who can teleport immediately or who have nice interrupting range will stay relatively safe from these attempts.

Zero builds meter (burns time and locks down) so well that he doesn’t NEED to (same with Y2K, but not nearly as much). Y2K benefits from Omotchama enough that she really doesn’t have to reset; just finish the combo and set up more lockdown with hearts and robot. Less risk, more reward. Polymar yeah, forgot about his real-tatsunoko-damage+mixups+resets. Although I still don’t think he NEEDS to reset.

LOL I just realized we’re in the Hulk thread. :<

so how’s about that Hulk? talk about green.

tvc sucks and is made by puny humans. this is the hulk thread.

And those pants! So purple!

Then keep your h8 panties on and stop talkin about it like we did MAYUN.

Mang mang. BTW Hulk wears no pants, he paints them on. Goin commando and nobody notices.

This is just theory, but I am certain c, (x), c.e into a combo - super will probably kill or take off at least 80-90% on chun-li and dead pool. As the saying goes, you won’t like Hulk when he’s angry.

Also he says his command grab is unblockable? I coulda swore it was blockable?

And yeah, Unity is beyond horrible when it comes to posters. If the rumor holds true and Juggernaut is in the game, I am sure he’ll have a 100% Rage Factor combo too. Theory Combo ( c = FP)---- j.c,s.c,qcb+c (X) dash, s.c, qcb+c Head Crush. He might not even need all that if he still has the mashable 8 hits.

woah, woah, woah. where’d you hear this buddy? Credible source or just talk on the street?

also, where was it stated that his command grab is unblockable? source?

Dude who posted the Hulk Combos I think tested it and confirmed it.

yeah he specifically stated that when he tried it it was unblockable.

that’s kickass. I was always miffed at how his command grab in MvC2 was unblockable. Colossus’ is understandable (it has good range/ mobility. blockability is a necessity) but Hulk’s made zero sense.

actually, MvC2 has alot of command grabs like that, and they were always annoying.

This reminded me of something–is capcom buffing some command throws so that they work against both airborne and grounded opponents? I’ve seen Spencer’s command throw catch both an air and ground opponent in the two vids of his.

Here is Spencer debut vid, and you can see at 0:35 he catches a jumping Cap with his command grab:

Now here is the Spencer match vid, and at 2:02 he uses the same exact throw on a grounded Magneto:

So it looks like Spencer and Hulk can do this at the moment. I wonder if it applies to any other command grabs?

Just brought this up in the She Hulk thread, but if Hulk’s throw remains unblockable, AND it grabs airborne opponents, then I imagine he’ll be able to get it on incoming characters for free! So the big question is what combos are possible after his command throw in non-corner situations. I know he can throw–>Gamma Tsunami. Anything else?
