It’s possible, and I’ve only seen one video of it in action (he probably took it down because of requests). The person who did it always replied with something along the lines of “it’s not simple and requires hex editing.” I’d like to eventually figure it out. I think general sound modding is a bit niche and never seems to be the goal of any modder.
About SFV’s music, I left the soundtrack running on youtube while I did other stuff and I gotta say, some of it actually sounds pretty cool. Still though, I’ll take Third Strike’s DnB style over it when it comes to actually playing. I feel like the electronic music of SF4/SFV gives the game no character. Something about it just feels too generic for the game.
It’s weird, I feel like I’d love the soundtrack more than I already do if Fukasawa did less, but he did Hillside Plaza and Rashid’s theme. I’m super conflicted.
I just hate how they had different composers for different tracks. It doesn’t make the OST feel whole because it’s like a few different genres/styles throw in together. The main guy is obviously Masahiro Aoki… should have just let him do everything with features of other composers if they wanted to. But I guess if it was all Aoki, we wouldn’t have all the other epic tracks. Ok, I like everyone, I just don’t like Fukusawa lol.
Man, if Cammy’s theme was done with guitars and shit it would have been so epic. Her theme is one of my favs, missed opportunity here.
Though if there was 1 track I didn’t like from Aoki, it would be Claw’s theme. It’s too relaxed imo. Definitely does not capture the feeling of his SF2 theme. When you got to Vega and heard his theme, god damn it was hype as hell.
It’s kidna hilarious actually how Street Fighter IV, despite having one of the worst soundtracks in the series’ history, has the best version of Cammy’s theme to ever be produced by Capcom.
There’s just so much energy in it and piano and guitars mix perfectly well creating a great tune to accompany you in a Street Fighter match
And then we go to SFV and her theme is complete and utter fucking garbage with no substance to it. Yawn
Karin wasn’t either. That’s what Smashbro is saying…
Saitsu’s comment doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Especially because A2’s soundtrack doesn’t really have a cohesive theme. The genres are all over the place (not necessarily a bad thing).
You’re right that it doesn’t have a major coherent theme, but the themes tend to be more upbeat and bouncy for lack of better terminology and more various in internal composition.
Obviously I’m aware that Karin wasn’t in A2. Only FGs she’s been in were A3 and CFJ. But I feel that her SFV theme would not be out of place in SFA2 whereas in SFA3 which focuses more on repetitive themes and beats. That’s why I always said it’s like they gave her a SFA2 theme retroactively and then updated it for SFV.
But feel free to dismiss my rants as nonsensical and just ignore it. I realize how moronic they sound.
