Actually you do. I think music from SF4 sucks. Not too hard to figure that out. You are arguing semantics and agree with me. Ok then. DBZ style to me is over the top, overly dramatic dogshit. It can be rock, it can be orchestrated, you know what DBZ music is, don’t be ignorant.

Oh, I know what DBZ music is, except you said that DBZ-style ROCK music PLAGUED SF4, when that style is represented in less than 1/4th of the melodies in the soundtrack

SF4 music is shit. I hear a sample from SFV and am not impressed. So I figure I am not too optimistic. The end.

People aren’t too optimistic on several things regarding this game. All you’re doing right now is jumping to conclusions not expecting a good OST from the game still in development based on 2 stage themes and 1 character select theme that still have time to be rewritten.

I get the same feeling with SFV music as i did with the music in MKX, which can be described in one word: forgettable.
Music isn’t bad, it’s just isn’t something for a fighting game, it doesn’t get me excited or pumped up to fight, not catchy, not unique. It feels background music you would use during a citscene or in a movie. I hope character themes will not be excluded.

Sure, I’ll give it that it sounds better than SF4, but considering that SF4’s soundtrack was the musical equivalent of AIDS, that’s not really saying much.

There are numerous direct feed videos of the game now where you can hear the music quite clearly and it still sounds like utterly generic garbage. The Hong Kong and London stages are interchangeable because they have no musical identity. You could have one stage’s music playing on the other and it wouldn’t sound out of place. It makes no difference.

This is exactly my problem with the music. Someone in the general thread assumed the china theme was the same song as the character select theme. Theres just not enough identity or culture to the stage songs.

I hate the love affair with the DBZ style rock music that plagued SF4, so generic, so lame with the cheesy guitar riffs.

The jazz, dnb, and hip-hop mix in the SF3 series is far superior to that crap. And from the things I’ve seen of SFV, not too optimistic.

SF3 has a lot of good music but the menu rap about how fighting is madd gangsta or whatever is shit. I actually bought the OE DLC just to not have to listen to that shit.

Forgotten Waterfall is nice, the rest is generic-sounding overproduced boilerplate that uses the cliche modern game soundtrack tropes of pointless orchestration and wubstep breaks.

Ken’s theme… sounds like Ken’s theme. Yeah, we know, it’s a great song. It’s been remixed and re-arranged more times than there are stars in the milky way.

I stand by my statement that the music still sucks. This composer has no ambition.

The compositions are solid, yes, because they’re literally taken note for note from the originals. Literally ANYONE can do that, take an existing song and put new instruments. I can do that for you in Fruity Loops if you wanted that.

That said, I really don’t like the character select theme. I like USF4’s a lot more (the one that plays in Arcade Mode at least).
