The most broken characters in (competitive) fighting games

Your forgetting Kabal, Nightwolf, Stryker, Kano and everyone else in the cast can do at least a 60% combo.

So he has the best keep away game so does Storm. Those unblockables you mentioned can be blocked in fuzzy guard situation. He has a weak defense cause he can’t air block. He takes more damage then Iggy. Iggy can die in 2 combos. Matt your wrong on a lot of your stuff and one thing that you won’t admit that Jojo’s is just as broke as MvC2 with Mariah’s super loop; Iggy’s 2b into Demon nullify’s push block; Jotaro, Dio, Shadow Dio, can one hit kill; Hol Horse’s chipfinite (both of them have it); Young Joesph being able to build meter while blocking; and again both Hols have unblockables you don’t here anyone bitching about those. What I just said is the tip of the iceberg.

Plenty of broke characters mentioned. Although t4 Jin > t5 Steve. And I love seeing people bring up #r Eddie. #r was called the most balanced game in the universe before SBO back in 05-ish (give or take a year) put a tier list in the program that had Eddie alone in s tier. Since then Eddie was too good. XX Eddie was more broken. #r is the nerfed version. #r Eddie has 2 things XX Eddie didn’t have: +frames on blocked 2k and broke jumping k. Jump k is huge, 2k is not. XX Eddie had jump S that was almost as good from the front, but crosses up too, shadow d and k cost less meter, shadow refilled as soon as you set the big drill as opposed to when it went off, 1-hit shadow gallery was untechable, and the big one was FRCable s drill (the close one). There were other nerfs like making the shadow d overhead prorate the rest of a combos damage, but those were the big ones.

Frc close drill gave him keep out, or pressure, as well as combos. 1-hit untechable shadow gallery combined with the shadow refilling as soon as you planted the bomb meant that after a big drill unblockable, if you had 75% meter you could do 3 frc’ed shadow galleries and have your shadow back and ready to go. More unblockables or whatever.

Now, maybe this Eddie wasn’t as bad since slayer was awesome too. XX slayer did have throw loop to death and 10000000 invulnerable frames with backdash cancels. But in a vacuum, XX Eddie was way better

Unbalanced and boring as she may be, “broke as fuck” seems like an overstatement since she couldn’t win Evo, or even make top 3. She hardly seems as broke as some other characters mentioned in this thread.

See, now thats just unfair. Singling out Evo and using it as an example, what happened to the other tournaments that she won? Did they just disappear? Yes, I know she may not be as broken as the other characters in this thread, but she is quite broken in the SC universe. Messing up once against her usually ends in a Ring Out, making her pretty broken at least compared to everyone else in the game.

No doubt, but she just doesn’t seem like she can hang with some of these other broke characters s’all.

She can’t hang with these other broke characters, but she IS the most broken in SC, a competitive fighting game, which is why she at least has to be mentioned. But yeah, she’s got a neat play style, thats for sure.

Akuma in 2I is the most broken SF3 character by a distance. Dive kick is broke to fuck.

Those tandem attack infinities are banned on tournaments. You will? never see 2 tandem attacks in 1? combo. Player usually ends it with special move.

  1. Storm is not relative to the balance of Jojo’s.
  2. Fuzzy guard relates the the amount of frames you keep a standing hitbox after blocking an overhead move (ex:a jumping move), so it has nothing to do with somehow being able to magically block unblockables.
  3. Petshop can block while standing and crouching, but cannot block standing normals while jumping like EVERY OTHER CHARACTER in the game.
  4. Hol Horse doesn’t have a chipfinite, I have never seen a Jotaro or Shadow Dio player do the one hit kill in a match ever, Mariah is the weakest character in the game, Hol Horse’s unblockables don’t lead to 100% meterless combos like PetShop’s do and Young Joseph being able to build meter while blocking isn’t even broken.

Yeah, it’s true. The Jojo’s community in Japan has soft-banned some things that they think are extra extra retarded in the game, like PetShop and abusing the crap out of Abdul’s stand-on super for infinite frames.

No. Human smoke is good but only #2. If you wanna talk broke go with Kabal, especially considering he was actually nerfed from mk3 and still managed to be #1 in both (iirc)

  1. Matt what part about Petshop can’t air block you didn’t get. You can block standing normals with an air block the rest of the cast you gotta quit pressing buttons.

Yunfei wasn’t god tier in SS5; Yoshitora was (because of having an easy/spammable/safe on block infinite in the back)

I can give you some of the reasons. Most of his normals have transcendence priority meaning that he always beats other attacks, they never get clashed or beaten if the other attack is stronger by at least 8%. Each of his specials act as a form of recovery combined with his multiple jumps. Because of the reduced hitstun, he can easily recover from an attack and basically just shrug it off. He also has what’s known as planking. Meta Knight can easily grab the ledge and jump and down the ledge with total invincibility. Frame data has shown that perfect planking is possible. He can also glide under most stages without any major problems back and forth. Finally, his worst matchup is said to be with himself.

In summary, he can stall like crazy; he recovers too easily from punishment; he has no bad matchups, and more often than not beats out other attacks.

I remember one person saying that MetaKnight was too Melee for Brawl. Considering that the vast majority of the cast sucks, he might’ve been right.
