Lol Metaknight
I see, lol
Then how about SI Sean? He seems pretty ridiculous.
I like BT3.
Then again, I guess it’s not really a game made for competition, lol.
Well there’s Akuma in ST / HDR he’s banned for a reason, but the only thing close to that in the SF2 realm is probably O. Sagat who is soft banned in Japanese tourneys
Ivan the Ooze. He’s literally untouchable.
GREAT rebuttals guys! I like how you refuted my points with well thought out points of your own! If you think Yun and Chun are “broken” you haven’t played many fighting games. You want to see OP characters, go play against NG Ibuki or 2I Ibuki or Akuma and then come back and tell me Yun and Chun are “broken.”
Either way, the idea that these two chars are broken tells me you don’t know what a broken character is if you think they’re in the same category as ST Akuma or even CE Bison.
Super Skrull and Sagat in SF4 or Gill from SF3 or Rugal from KOF
Don’t forget Angel in og 2K2, that is one braindead infinite.
lol at anyone whos playing kof and not using chang
Toki and Rei from Hokuto no Ken
Motonari from Sengoku Basara X (yet there are other broken things on the game)
Mongo from Survival Arts, he got a proyectile attack with 80% damage, really, Ivan the Ooze has nothing do to against him.
Akuma (Super Turbo) – Pretty much untouchable, and even an attempt to balance him in HDR failed.
Gill (3rd Strike) – How’s an easy SA to revive you after losing a round sound? Great?
Hilde (Soul Calibur 4) – Ring outs anywhere without walls? Pretty much banned across the board now. People either have to be really smart on block (As she can hit the ring outs multiple ways), or get lucky to get a walled stage.
CE Bison (Hyper Street Fighter II) – Damage output off the charts comapred to the rest of the cast.
And Magneto, Storm Sentinel and Cable from MVC2. – Basically makes the other 50 something characters (save a few assist characters) nonplayable at the competitive level.
Vanilla Sagat wasn’t broken.
There goes mine.
Guess I’ll say Kairi from TMNT Tournament Fighters, though she’s banned.
I disagree with most of this. PetShop is considered SSS tier because he is able to attack while blocking, his mixups are unblockables, he has full screen unblockables, can do 100% damage off of any normal, cannot be hit low in the “standing” position for many moves and in the “crouching” position most moves whiff over his “crouching” hitbox ala Iggy. He can also do 100% combos off of his full screen unblockables and has hands down the best keep away game, which he can do unblockables>100% combos during the keep away game.
Essentially everything I listed no character has any effective way to fight against and his capabilities go vastly beyond any other character in the game. He is considered to have around an 8-2 to 9-1 matchup (in his favor) on average with the entire cast when used to his fullest potential.
He is soft-banned, but not tourney banned. This thankfully means that everyone who plays PetShop sucks by comparison to other players in terms of skill (because they get very little practice), so that’s why you don’t see PetShop’s at the top of every tournament list or at all.
I answered ur question in the above post.
It’s probably Metaknight. His offense makes a lot of characters pretty much unviable. Plus, even if you can hang against a smart player, he’ll camp your ass out and play runaway with a lifelead if he gets one. The worst part about him though is that he is among the easiest characters to pick up in the game, and flowcharting with him is extremely effective.
Matt its by chance that he lands his button charge while blocking also he has no unblockable super his Glacier Super is blockable (try air blocking next time you play someone). Also that 100% combo is all he has. He takes damage worse then Akuma so in 2 combos maybe even in 1 Petshop is dead.
Nobody mentioned Human Smoke/Ermac/Reptile in UMK3? Infinites out the ass, minimum of 60% off any combo, etc.
You are wrong. 2S, 2A, 2B etc are all lows and his chargeable icicle drop is an overhead. He can do both at the same time creating an unblockable. One of his full screen unblockables is 3S and a full screen icicle drop. Also, it doesn’t matter if he has one or 100 different meterless 100% combos, the fact that he can do 100% combos meterless off of any normal is enough to be absolutely ridiculous.
PetShops chargeable icicle drops are some of his most used moves. Why wouldn’t a PetShop player have at least one icicle charging at all times? You can say it’s chance, but it is extremely likely that a good PetShop player will be charging at least one icicle at almost all times during a round.
Also, who cares if he has slightly lower health than other characters. It’s still going to take around 2+ combos to kill PetShop, like with all other characters. In addition to this he has THE BEST keepaway game, so how is someone even going to touch him in the first place?
Example of a 100% combo. The super at the end was for show.
