Use the insect to collect the red buff as it changes the moveset and use the pogo to stagger and mount monsters. As far as weapons go it’s one of the more complex ones.
Insect Glaive is a weak weapon. If you want damage then I recommend looking elsewhere. The most damaging it gets is when you have all three buffs from your Kinsect and you can use slash fury to your heart’s content.
This too. In terms of raw damage it’s on the low end with the sword and shield and hunting horn. The plus side is that like the dual blades it has a very high attack speed so it’s great for abusing status effects and weaknesses.
One of the great things about Monster Hunter is that all of the weapons are fun and viable.
Speaking of weapons,
According to the first Wyverian the Longsword is most popular, the Hunting Horn least. I was using a Lance and he said that was the second least popular. I’d be curious to see the full list.
Gunlance is probably the most improved. It feels good now. It’s still a very niche weapon just in its basic design however. It’s some straight hipster shit.
I main the Insect Glaive and one thing that’s helped me out with it is switching the camera distance to far. Makes it easier to connect successive hits in the air. I always use energy drinks and eat meals that increase stamina before fights, too. And I focus on a speed build for my Kinsect. Makes a big difference in getting those buffs quick.
Always bring Flash Pods for flying wyverns. If three isn’t enough, bring a stack of Flash Bugs to craft more mid-hunt. If you’re soloing and using your Palico, have it bring Flash Cages. Monster Hunter is about always being prepared for the fight.
Lol, Insect Glaive has never been “low damage” in my opinion. It’s a versatile weapon with even more movement options than before, and if you’re using the kinesect properly the damage you can deal is outrageous.
This collector’s edition is ASS. The soundtrack is digital, no CD. The nergigante statue is tiny and not that great. The art book is a booklet; that is not a fucking book. It contain some neat sketches but it’s like, not even a 7th of the actual monster hunter art books.
My friend tried to hide it but he looked hella dissapointed and I was honestly shocked at how poor the content was.
To add to this, consider the location where you are fighting whatever flying wyvern and see if there is some environs stuff you can (hopefully) use in your favor.
Elevation changes via slopes and raised ledges/areas may open up some options for your weapon’s attack ranges, though YMMV.
