They’ve already talked about having DLC plans with monsters coming in free updates(the first of which is coming in spring), as well as thinking of doing paid cosmetic stuff apparently.

As far as the grinding aspect goes, it’s kinda what made me drop MH4U. I’m hoping that they’ve lessened it now that the game is geared towards a different audience, it would make me happy at least.

Tsujimoto: (on G-rank) We still haven’t decided. For the time being, we’re thinking about updating the current system and adding monsters and such several times. First and foremost, we want to do proper updates and have players continue playing Monster Hunter: World itself before anything.”

Fujioka: “We’re thinking of ways to give more replay elements or a way to expand on the gameplay, so please look forward to something like that.”

When you start out solo and damage a monster then it goes to multiplayer when others join, what happens to the monster’s remaining health?

Fujioka: “Of course the damage will carry over, and the damage given will be reflected when it goes into multiplayer.”

Tsujimoto: “It won’t go to nothing or anything like that.”

Will the monster’s health change based on the number of participating players?

Fujioka: “While there is a difference in health between solo and multiplayer, it’s not that different whether there’s two or four players.”

I been waiting for this game to show back up on a decent console so hard.

Glad it’s happened finally. Been playing MH on my frikkin’ PS2 this whole time. I ain’t got time for handheld BS.

As far as sequels are concerned, MHW has by far & away 100Xs the hype the original ever had. Social media
made this possible. I finally got what I wanted after all these years, but if it does well enough to have a fully
realized sequel…that’s motherfuckin’ icing on my icecream cake.

Not complaining…but does this feel like Lost Planet 2 + Monster Hunter to anyone else? (speaking of, what happened to LP2? Everyone was playing the demo, but there was nobody to play with when the actual game dropped)

I played a fuckton of LP2 when it came out, but the only SRKers I played with were FurryCurry and I think Beta

I don’t know what makes you feel like it’s lp2 though since I think it’s more like lp2 took ideas from MH

Oh damn I thought g rank would be in the base game. Well, I really hope there’s some kind of higher difficulty to fill in that void. G rank is my jam. The armor aeathetics are everything to me. I remember using the gigginoth G set almost exclusively all through g rank in MH3U becuase it looked fucking wicked.

None of the Monster Hunter games on release have had G-rank, if I recall correctly. In the west, we got 3U and 4U only instead of the vanilla games, which did not have G rank either. Traditionally, G rank comes later. At the very least, I hope G rank comes at a later date as a paid DLC expansion, rather than having to buy a whole new game.
