I’m not easily offended but that seemed a little racist (and Japan is kinda dumb on what is considered offensive to american minorities. Not their fault, though). Cats are MUCH cooler…although I think it would be cool to incorporate some human-sized tribal cats as well with different stats than human hunters, and perhaps different weapon sets (predator-style wrist blades, spears, big bladed boomerangs for melee and throwing, blade-edged shields for defense AND offense, the ability to command palicoes Galford/Poppy-style, etc). “Jaguardians”, perhaps?

Progressed a lil further, can’t say I like the new upgrade system for armos. It removes a bit of the grind for Armor Spheres, but you burn through other resources a bit too fast.
Ok, so I’m starting to do some HR3 quests for the Hunter’s Guild now, and I’ve definitely found my new favorite monster so far.
Truly beautiful in design, and he’s actually pretty fun to fight. Doesn’t hurt that his armor set looks utterly badass too, so I’m working towards making the full set. Just have to farm for some annoying ass components like Lightcrystals and Champion’s Crests. Doing these quests solo with the gear I’m stuck with is NOT a pretty site.
Having a lot of fun with this one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they brought back some of the Freedom Unite villages! You can essentially make any one of them your main hub, I like that you have a choice instead of getting the usual one village. They also brought back a TON of the older maps from various games. That was a really nice touch.
Weapon Arts are really adding a lot of depth to the game as well, and getting me to try weapons I never would’ve thought to touch.
Malfestio is a really cool monster. The confusion is annoying as hell though.
So it’s actually an improvement over 4U

If only we could get some damn MHG faceplates of the system colors (NA version, euro version, and the Japanese blue-to-red color scheme), though.
