right now doubles strengths seem to be the assist and the fact that she screws up other characters combos sometimes.

“competence” has little to do with why this thread is here. if you had read the thread up to here you would know this. this thread is kinda like the news… ie heres whats going on in the world of skullgirls right now. these threads tend to really blow up during major tournies and simmer in the downtime. these threads get more and more “competent” as the game goes on.
and finally there is no reason as to why these threads shouldnt exist other than abstracts. saying “it will take 6 months for anyting resembling an accurate tier list to come out” is false as its dealing with an abstract. (the word “accurate” is abstract in this context) anyone could come in and say “no its a year before anything accurate can be made” yet another person might say it will be 5 years… correct answer there is no earliest time cause cause there is no definition of what best is… best changes over time and mutable tier lists are god at showing those changes, over time. they grow with the community.
and also… people learn stuff from tier lists.

Yo. Why do people get offended at the idea of something else existing? When not only does it do no harm to anyone, but they can simply choose to ignore it? I don’t think I’ll ever quite get people.
Everyone is posting how Cere is top tier. She does the most damage, has insane range, amazing set ups, amazing assists, really powerful DHCs. Like, wtf.
But bella does have a hard counter in the form of peacock lol. Peacock will probably end up mid. But against Bella she’ll be top.
I’m pretty sure that won’t last, right now its a lot of 1p Ceres (or at least what I’m seeing), I’m thinking that’ll be one of the very worst setups in a few weeks time
Solo teams are terrible. Cere/Double is my top tier pick right now, followed by Val/Fil
My problem isn’t tier lists, tier lists are helpful. But tier lists are made with the fact that the characters are being played at the highest level/ their full potential.
As you can see, this clearly isn’t the case. Your own personal experiences have no relevance, if you want to construct a tier list this early (which I still disagree with.) please look over some tournament archives like the FinestKO stream that just happened. (Even then, this early the characters arn’t being used at their full potential, which makes this whole topic redundant.)

Double is a point monster, I have to side with you on Dubsbella instead of Cereuble.
Double has the best assist in the game, the two best DHCs.
once again you are dealing in abstracts, at this point in time no one is playing any character near there full potential… however people ARE playing cere CLOSER to her full potential… cause shes a grappler. grapplers are simple at the onset of games and get worse as time goes on. the tier list RIGHT NOW, LIVE AS YOU ARE READING THIS… IS REFLECTING THAT. the tier list is doing its job.

i don’t understand why personal experiences have no relevance? shouldn’t they be included, if all i play is painwheel and i watch finestko and dacidbro is running through everyone then loses to a bella multiple times because he wasn’t doing something that i know about which changes how effective bella is should i ignore that and just think bella gives painwheel a hard time?
i understand where you’re coming from, and i agree that if someone is playing the character poorly and neglecting known tools they have, you can’t really use that. a discussion can be had about the current state of the matches though even if they will change in the future until they do we should gather what we do know about them imo
I don’t think Double’s assist helps Cerebella’s bad matchup as much as Cerebella’s assist could help Double dominate with chip/lockdown.
That said, if it’s a duo it doesn’t matter a great deal.
edit: Double’s assist was certainly prominent in the FinestKO stream, though Dacidbro mentioned the point that if it whiffs, it takes so long to recover that you can probably guarentee a mixup before they can call an assist again.
