Either way vs Aoki is gonna be a good fight. I think everybody in here knows the UFC match making and fighter retention is some of the worst in the business, especially if your not caucasian. Askren must have slapped Whites head or something he usually the type of fighter White gets on his knees for.
i doubt its gonna be that good of a fight. japans biggest kryptonite is intermediate to high level wrestling. like as a country they are trash against it.
Iâm starting to think Iâm getting trolled. Now theyâre saying they know for a fact that Bruce had better stamina than Conor McGregor and he would have easily lasted 12 rounds against Floyd Mayweather, despite the fact that weâve never seen Bruce Lee compete professionally in any combat sport.
Thatâs exactly what youâre doing by claiming that a novice in boxing who hasnât even fought professionally in any combat sport can beat one of the greatest boxers ever, alsĂ o claiming to believe that Bruce was being humble by saying that Ali wouldâve just ârocked himâ in a fight despite not proving that he could even be competitive against a competent boxer within his own weight devision, let alone Ali who was almost twice his bodyweight.
Another thing people still seem not to understand is how hard boxers hit. In the 70âs black belt magazine measured the striking force of all martial art styles, boxing included, and they found out that boxers hit the hardest and fastest. In a documentary on the discovery channel that I recorded on a VHS tape (years ago) an editor of black belt magazines (or some other martial arts publication) explained that eventhough it was proven in the 70âs that boxers strike a lot harder and faster than other martial artists these martial arts styles didnât change to incorporate boxing because they donât want to break from tradition and view boxing methods as being superior to what theyâve been taught for generations.
I used to be a Wing Chun and JKD fanatic in my teens, until I realised that people who vouched for this style could never prove its effectiveness in any situation, and at that time Brazilian jiu-jitsu was gaining exposure and constantly proving itself against all styles without making excuses.
Most of you are still in awe with people like Dan Inosanto just because they knew Bruce Lee and not because they actually proved themselves as fighters. Dan Inosanto saying Bruce was a good boxer means absolutely nothing. This is a guy who thought that âstick fightingâ would be a great addition to JKD.
Saying Bruce can overcome the restrictions in boxing is clearly contradicting the video you posted earlier which implied that Bruce would not care for MMA because of the minor rules and even less restrictions than boxing.
I never said Conor would win or that Bruce would last 12 rounds. Iâve not made a single statement or claim about Bruceâs stamina.
**Citation **please.
I never claimed Bruce would beat Ali, or that Conor would beat Floyd for that matter. You seem to have missed the fact that I donât really like Bruce Lee at all.
Wow. Punching specialists hit harder and faster than non-specialists. Imagine my shock.
Admitting your limitations seems like textbook humility to me. Youâre just upset that I never speculated how bad the fight would go. Bruce said he would lose, thatâs good enough for me.
At this point all youâre doing is masturbating over pure boxing.
Wing Chun sucks. Bruce knew it, so do most people. But itâs not the techniques that suck, itâs the training process. After all, it has all your typical strikes and kicks and shit, even the stop kick which we see in MMA (yeah itâs in Savate and other things too, but WC made it popular).
The beauty of starting out in combat sports like TKD and Muay Thai is thatâŚyou donât give much of a shit about Bruce Lee or his followers. Never met Dan Inosanto, never seen anything impressive out of him.
