As far as short-term gains go, Iâd say that the existence of 125 is due to the UFC wanting to have another belt to push short-term and weâre now seeing that long-term itâs an unsustainable weight class.
Its not about it going mainstream. Itâs about the fact that the UFC was NOT worth 4 billion dollars. WME-IMG overpayed. IIRC they doubled the next closest bid. If they had paid what it was really worth, they would not have to pull some many shenanigans to pay off what they borrowed. Of course, who knows if the Fertitas would have sold for the UFC if they only got the 1.8 to 2 billion dollars it was really worth.

Iâm with DJ on this one. They have just been tyrna fuck with DJ for the longest time. It is the promotionâs job to sell their product. It is hard enough to diet, train, and actually win consistently in this sport. In no other sport is such a top tier athlete treated so badly.
