Sanda is a completely separate event created by the Chinese Government.
It is common to run it alongside taolu (which is what used to be called wushu), but they are entirely separate sports.
its more or less the difference of point fighting/full contact and sport karate. same family different sports.
Sanda has a lot in common with savate
On top of that, throws and takedowns are all legit. As well as knees in some orgs.
