The MMA Thread. BJ Penn Didn't Die #HeDeadThough

Yeah I was expecting to see more headkicks to Koscheck’s blindspot, but alas…wasn’t meant to be. After Shields, GSP need to start looking at other weight classes…there’s literally noone else after that.

anyone seen this article bout gsp? lol he apparently doesnt believe in cardio training or weight training.
http://www.cagepotato.com/freakishly-gifted-aathlete-gsp-doesn?t-really-believe-lifting-weights-doing-cardio

Main even was boring and had a better time eating wings and kickin it!
the other fights were entertaining but GSP vs KOS was like watching paint dry…

HE MAN HANDLED HIM! lmao, thats what we ALL expected.
Im still not impressed with GSP and yeah (obvi he is good) but Jab jab kick (change this combo however) didnt keep me as a fan in the fight.

Good to see that GSP’s camp (i dunno if its still the same ones) doesnt need to put more Vagasil on him

*im impressed… but like, after not fighting for like 2 years, he shoulda KO’d Him

Oookaaayyyyy…

Then tell me how…

“Shields is worse at takedowns, and Shields is also worse at takedown defence then Koscheck”

Sounds like…

“Koscheck sucks.”

again

?

O WAITE IT DOESUNT ?

?

???

.

?

Kek.

Rogan has been pretty vocal on the boxing skill level of UFC fighters.

GSP kicks weren’t that great, nothing like Thiago’s. 1 thing he did do though was use the lead a lot.

A N A L [Intercept]. Bur.

Thankfully all the upsets last night happened in matches that didn’t really matter. :x

Pacquiao shoulda KO’d Margarito after doing similar work to mans eyeball, Mayweather shoulda KO’d Marquez seeing as he had a size advantage, yet we aren’t bashing them. It’s entirely possible to have an impressive and dominant performance without knocking someone clean out. Kos was able to defend well enough on the ground and TD attempts to not get pounded out, and he was able to take some shots to the chin without getting KO’d. Too bad that’s all he was able to do (not too bad at all really I loved it) because he had no answer for what GSP was showing him.

I think it’s impressive when you beat a man so cleanly that all he can do is stand there with his madface on getting punched in the eyeball and occasionally wing a useless haymaker at the air in front of him. But that’s just me, I don’t need the brutal KO’s to be impressed with his performance.

EDIT: I didn’t catch the Alves call out of Shields either, but it makes sense. Champ aside for obvious reasons, I’d take Alves, Fitch and Kos over Shields without giving it much thought. Any other fighters we all agree would take Shields to task? I don’t think any of those fights I just listed would be all that competitive, tbh. If Shields gets a title shot, it’s based on name alone at this point.

Philth & his rage posts.

I feel like you smash the keyboard when you post.

I personally believe shields is better with takedowns and grappling than Koscheck & Fitch. Just not so sure how he handles weight at 170. He looked sick the last time he fought and I wasn’t impressed at all.

GSP not finishing this fight really isn’t helping him either with sports media. Maybe, i’m too much of a boxing fan and just thought his total annihilation of Koscheck on the feet was good enough for me. We’ll see how he does in his next fight though, I’m definitely excited for it.

I still think it will be awhile though before he moves up in weight. Another year or so.

So apparently Koscheck has a broken orbital since the first round. Damn. At the very least i give him props for going on w/ something like that.

UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre Unable To Finish Dinner - Watch Kalib Run

MONTREAL-- Just a day after dominating UFC Welterweight Josh Koscheck in a 5 round battering decision, GSP found himself in another fight – this time with his dinner plate.

“We order and I was pretty hungry,” recalled St. Pierre. “I felt this was going to be the best meal I have faced to date.”

Georges was celebrating his title victory with coach Greg Jackson as well as other guests.

“I suggested Georges eat the fish,” beamed Jackson. “I make all the big decisions.”

The waiter soon brought Georges his food and placed it in front of him. St. Pierre beamed.

“I remember thinking, this is what I prepared for. I am ready to eat,” said GSP. And eat he did. Or at least tried. Jackson told GSP to implement a “Take a bite, chew 20 times and sip some water” strategy. This way. GSP could make sure he was never in any danger of choking.

“It was technically some of the best eating I’ve seen,” recalled Jackson.

However, the winds of change began to blow towards the end. It looked as if St. Pierre couldn’t finish the dinner.

“I sat there and I jab and I jab at the fish, but I couldn’t eat it,” said Georges. "I even broke my fork and Greg said ‘Eat it with your broken fork’.

Eventually, GSP pushed away from the table, unable to complete the meal.

“I feel like I did what I was supposed to do. Not every meal will get a clean plate.”

I had a feeling Kos broke something when the cornerman couldnt even touch his right eye without Kos pushing him away. GSP needs to move up to MW now, we all know hes gonna steamroll Shields unless he gets caught with a random ass sub.

you realize people bash mayweather for technically dominating his opponents without KO’ing them pretty much all the damn time, right?

and that’s why the ufcs so popular. No one actually cares about skill. Shit if people keep getting better…the ufc isn’t going to have any fans left. That’s kinda strange.

He’s called Grandpa hands for a reason. Mayweather just gets bashed because no one has an answer to his defensive style and he’s not an all out in your face puncher like idiot fans want to see all the time no matter what.

I appreciate Mayweather’s fighting style immensely and would enjoy a pac-man/mayweather fight. Still think Mayweather would win though.

I just don’t like mayweather cause he runs his mouth so much…but he’s got the skill to back it up so whatever.

Thats not running. Its called being elusive. He’s a defensive fighter!

After watching UFC 124 I knew how everyone was going to react.

St-Pierre Lovers: Happy he earned another win over a top contender.
St-Pierre Haters: Not happy he earned another win over a top contender by decision.

The reactions from the MMA fan base are just too predictable. I’d bet that even if St-Pierre started finishing all of his fights the haters would still hate and just find something else to hate on about St-Pierre.

Oddly enough there is some truth to this.

jim miller is fucking anti-brazilian. I’m calling it.

Next fight he has with one I’m expecting him to win it.
