God damn…that dude Barbosa worked that niggas leg into oblivion. I pray that they add that function to UFC 2011…I mean, fights can end because of leg kicks. Them things is deadly.
lol nice.
Heh, something like that.
IMO the fight could have gone either way. The rounds were 2-1 Rampage but Lyoto had the most dominant round of the 3. Rampage won the first two rounds but it was close.
^_-;
I love how Arona is now a verb, you heard Joe? “Thats would of saved Arona” he act like that nigga got murdered or something.
Indeed. Honestly the ref probably should of stopped it the 2nd time he fell and didn’t get back up. Brutal kicks.
hahaha, Rampages reaction shot is mad goofy. He was like :wow:!!! But anyways, I doubt we would really see a rematch anytime soon. Rashad really wants to get paid right?
The ball don’t lie… mma style
What BJJ BB wouldnt be afraid to get Arona’d.
No one wants to have their last name turned into a verb because they fought Rampage and were to stupid to let go of a submission.
Oh, and LOL at Quinton’s eyes during the announcement of his victory.
Someone needs to gif that reaction of Rampage
the nigga sat down after the fight for his personal emo moment…his crew is like no nigga you might have won…lol.
People are cryin and saying outlandish shit like “BIGGEST ROBBERY IN UFC HISTORY!” Bitches just started watching MMA last week or what?
It was a CLOSE decision. Not a robbery. In PRIDE Machida would have won, but this shit ain’t PRIDE.
^_-;
i love my wall…all my traditionalist friends are crying their eyes out. like they just found out santa isnt real. its hilarious…you are an absolute idiot if you cant figure out this coulda easily gone either way.
in terms of decisions go…tonight was a pretty good night. nothing screamed outlandish at all. robbery my ass. i was robbed of turning arona’d into machida’d.
Please happen.
EDIT: I remember a post a while back talking about how WEC had capoeiristas. Who?
Sure bro.
i dunno if anthony pettis is a capoeirista for sure but he def does capoeira moves like meia lua compasso…its the hook kick variation that almost took off that wrestlers head.
Just got back from watching it, was a pretty good card. LOL at Penn/Hughes, MMA is a funny sport.
Rampage winning was fair, it was a good call by the judges.
Probably a draw. Rampage in the first two rounds was the only one trying to do anything for a majority of that fight. Not every fight is Murilo vs Hendo for PRIDE judging.
Bleh, guess I can’t really see how Rampage got a decision from that but shrug… not gonna be able to agree with them all. The main argument I’m reading on various forums is that Rampage was “more aggressive so he deserved the win”. When you’re not landing anything decisive while in the process of being aggressive… thats like the same as doing a takedown and following it up with nothing. I felt like the first round was almost a draw, maybe Machida being up because of the leg kicks. 2nd round… I can’t really remember… could have gone to Rampage? 3rd round, Machida landing more significant strikes with the punches and knees into the takedown and advancing position on the ground. I’m gonna watch the fight again later though and see if my opinion changes.
Rampage - Bringin me (and the rest of the negroes on this thread) back from lurker status!!!
I failed to see anything “controversial” at all about that. Rampage took 1 & 2. Machida tooled him a bit in the 3rd. Nothing really out of the ordinary. I was suprised that HE was surprised he won…Two things about Lyoto though:
-
He really needs to stop going straight backwards when he gets hit. If Rampage was a bit faster, he’d have Shogun’d him.
-
And other people have already said this, but he does need to adjust his style. Not to MMA itself, but to the fact that people have adjusted to him. It’s cool to be mythical, elusive karate guy when people will chase you all over the cage. Now that people have learned “do not run into this guy”, he needs to adjust his game accordingly. If he’s been training at Blackhouse, then he really needs to go after it more like some of those guys do. The most obvious example being Anderson - sure, he’s certainly more of a counterstriker, but he also can initiate. Lyoto won’t seem to do that. And with all the negativity being given stall tactics (lay n’ pray, dancing around, non engaging) generally; he’s going to find himself on the wrong end of a lot of decisions without some adjustments.
Other random tidbits:
Don’t really know how to feel about B.J. vs. Hughes. It was so quick I didn’t really learn anything.
Somebody needs to put Karo on suicide watch tonight.
Dear Phil Davis: That was the most bootleg kimura I’ve ever seen. I laughed. In a good way though.
Ninja Edit: Winner of Jones-Bader should get Rampage then title shot. Loser gets Machida.
Yeah, I can understand your points regarding 1 and 2. Isn’t Karate considered a very linear style though? Maybe that’s where he gets it from. Being a little more diverse in his reactions to strikes coming at him definitely wouldnt hurt. And as far as point number 2… seems like its an unfortunate reality. As much as they go on about how Machida is unique in his style, it isn’t appreciated by a lot of people. If he wants a better chance at a successful career… he probably does need to tweak his style at least a little since the judges may not like it either. I personally think theres nothing wrong with it, I appreciate being tactical and smart. (for anyone that watches teh narutoez… shikamaru is who i like the most >_>) But again… not everyone does like that stuff so shrug…
