I did a paper/presentation on how MMA is not as dangerous as people think for a speech and debate class a couple years back. The standing count is actually worse because people can have a certain type of concussion (i forget, its been years) but are able to continue for a bit longer. They get hit more…go down again and the damage is done. Also, the bigger surface area of boxing gloves leads to more blunt force trauma supposedly. Doesn’t leave cuts but like deeper damage more inside… i forget all the details so it sounds more retarded than it is. I hate it when people argue about MMA is more dangerous when theres so many holes in the argument.
it helps seperate mma from other sports. they do alot of stuff to try to seperate themselves, and seem like their still the badboys of sports and have a big connection to the fans. this is also why dana white is the f bomb dropping figurehead of ufc, as well as he will publically answer peoples questions. he may bullshit, but he’s more or less truthful…bout 70-80% truthful to the fans.
yeah alot of things they do may be viewed as unprofessional, but look at where they are today. they may not have even come close to what they are now if they took a more traditional route.

I thought Undisputed 2010 was terrible. One of the worst games I have ever bought. Undisputed 2009 though I thought was amazing. I put a lot of hours into that game. Much less laggier matches in 2009 definately helped.
The ground sways and feints are dope as fuck.

Same here @ the presentation. What’s worse is that some studies have shown the more times you get concussed (even with year long gaps in between) the easier it is for you to get concussed again. It’s just a crappy situation. Some people argue MMA is more violent, yet Boxing is much much more dangerous imo.
