what i tell u guys last year, that jones kid looks like one of the best fighters ive seen from the ufc. seems i didnt mistake his talent, hes the complete fighter for that weightclass. most other ufc fightrers are utter crap with their kicks, knees and elbows. jones was great with that shit last year, gonna check out how he handled sho.

well its not like he was the first choice for the title shot. but honestly what do you do when he literally hasnt struggled for any of his fights.when former champions like forrest say shit like “i cant even tell how he is…he finishes people too damn quick”…you cant just try and drag the title picture on.
but i honestly believe rampage turned it down…cause he was gearing up for someone else.

i havent seen anybody on his level thats why i was curious. last year some of the people here did feel he was a good fighters but that he was lacking something and he hadnt really fought people worth a damn. personally 1 fight from his last year was able to convince me he was hot shit. kids too fucking complete, explosive speed, power, insight, those elbows and legs of him. he fights with his head.
also how many fights where there on ufc, im dl the ufc128 torrent (370mb) and id like to know if there where more fights or just the jones fight.

Wow I told my buddy after we saw Jon Bones Jones fight Bonnar a while back he would be the champ before he was 25 and he laughed at me. Well who is laughing now! Dude is a freak I had little doubt about tonights outcome. Shogun is no doubt the 2nd best fighter in the division can’t believe the gap is this big. More surprising then all his physical tools is the fact the most impressive thing about this kid is what is between his ears at least from what i have seen.

I wish I had seen this when it happened. Glad Shogun got the shit kicked outta him (yes, I’m still mad about that Machida fight lol), and Jones deserved the win. That last combination that ended the fight was on HOLY SHIT level. That dude was tapping on the way down.

Modern day MMA is still too new, so I feel there will be more Jones’s coming up and less Forrest Griffins & Rich Franklins around.

If Rashad doesn’t beat Bones, I think Machida has the best chance to do it. Bones looks really strong right now, but remember, it’s MMA. BJ Penn looked invincible at lightweight, Brock looked like he would never lose at HW and when Machida won the belt it was supposed to be the “Machida Era”, then Shogun looked unbeatable till Bones demolished him. Dominant champions in MMA like Fedor, GSP and Anderson Silva (Matt Hughes and Chuck Liddell in the past) are few and far between.
Honestly, there’s a bunch of guys at LHW who could give Bones a good fight. Rampage has a puncher’s chance vs anyone, Rashad might be the better wrestler, Machida could zone him with his superb footwork and outstanding TDD. Remember, this is a guy that went the distance with Stephan Bonnar. Heck, I think Forrest would even have a pretty decent fight against him. Forrest could match him in size and reach, also Forrest has the better gas tank and their wrestling is pretty close.
I think Shogun might get his rematch with Forrest pretty soon though, so my theory that Forrest’s first win over Shogun was no fluke might be tested. It has always seemed to me that Shogun has problems with guys who have size and reach on him, especially if they expose his mediocre TDD.
