I really dont see how Shields can beat GSP. GSP wouldnt be stupid enough to stay in Shield’s guard and GSP has the size advantage so unless Shields just pulls out a miracle sub out of his ass, GSP wins this 9/10 times. If I had to choose a way for Shields to win, it’ll be by either triangle or RNC. But it’ll be amazing to see Shields get a takedown.
Silva/GSP would be the fight to make Silva retire after. We can hope this fight goes down late this year, but I doubt that will happen and since Silva is getting old, unless he feels like he can compete at LHW for about 2-3 fights to get to Shogun he’ll be retiring after this fight if he beats GSP.
The picture of Shogun staring at Jones makes me hope he’s coming in at 100%. I still have hope that he can last another 2-3 years in MMA but as Rock said, if his knee goes out again it’ll be best to retire.
I heard Silva was contractually obligated for only a few more fights, hence why Dana has snapbacked Okami. He’s trying to milk Silva’s potentially last fights of his career.

Thats what I meant. When you’re leaning on someone against the cage, and you’re unloading knees in their gullet, thats taxing on the defender. GSP’s best bet is stay away from the edges of the cage. He needs to keep this fight in the center of the ring where he can shoot and make sure silva has nothing to help him get up.
the problem with that is he’s not that much more “skilled” than gsp. He’s going to be bigger, longer and will have the advantage in striking. Although i don’t think the advantage in striking is that big of a gap that’s it’s going to make the difference in the fight.
