TK beating Fedor was lucky. TK missed a punch and managed to illegally elbow Fedor cutting him causing the fight to be stopped. Since it was a tournament and not a typical mma fight, with a winner was required to advance in the bracket. Since Fedor cannot proceed, TK got the win from a punch he missed. Under normal circumstances, TK would get disqualified or Fedor should have advanced.
Another “lucky” win is Belfort/Couture II…that shit got me sooooo heated when he was awarded that BS win AND the belt off a grazing punch that cut Couture’s eyelid! then in the promos for the 3rd bout, Vitor talking about how he was gonna “defend his belt ike a champion” NIGGA YOU DIDN’T EVEN WIN THE BELT! (well yeah he did, but still ) Randy whooped that ass in the 3rd fight tho, so all was well, haha.
The definition of a fluke is literally “good luck: a stroke of luck”.
And I still stand by what I said even after watching it again to make sure. Fedor started hammer fisting on Werdum with no regards to Werdums grappling ability. It was a retarded rookie mistake. Yes it requires skill to apply a triangle but, if Fedor hadn’t commited such a rookie mistake Werdum would not have got the submission. How is that not luck?
Fedor pretty much put himself in his guard and IMO forgot the triangle
You see him throw him like a rag doll… at any point he could yanked his arm out, but, he didnt, and the other dude landed a good submission
plus fedor shows some very good defends against it… including just grabbin the arm
Fedor didnt connect with anything, if he did it wouldve been lights out for Werdum.
kit cope won his bout and was like a world title or sumtin.
Seems like you think any old submission win is a “lucky” win by those standards, unless they beat someone up into RNC or pull some Ryo Chonan shit lol.
oh he didnt? well wtf was all the hype about then.
The hype was the fact that he threw a kick that has never been attempted before AND he smacked Bendo across the face with it.
Pettis also could be fighting Guida just so he wont be sidelined for so long and Dos Santos is gonna fight for the interim belt.
Carwin did sign up for a fight at UFC 131 so if they wanted JDS to fight, that would be a good time.
Jason Macdonald is back at UFC 129. I enjoy his fights.
I’m not sure JDS wants to be fucking with that kind of gamble, he’s a better boxer than Carwin but could get messed up against the cage. I’d still pick JDS to win, but I wouldn’t bet money on it.
Ya’ll’s sleeping on my man JDS.
He will decapitate Carwin if they fight.
THIS! Carwin has ungodly power, but shit technique. Santos is gonna show him how to box.
Yay, Mir is fighting again haha. Sucks that its vs Roy “The Big Country Moon” Nelson though… I like both fighters lol…
That’s the dumbest shit I’ve seen in a long time. Why tie up your only legit contender for so long? He may as well have just waited for Cain.
edit: When I say dumbest, I also mean smartest.
This will top even the Kimbo episodes, for sure.
WTF. JDS’s english makes big nog sound good and I can only see Lesnar taking a Quentin Jackson approach to coaching. Gonna be a weird season.
Thats the thing, isn’t Cain coming back around the time frame of september? And this season should be done by may or june with that ppv at that time so I guess they won’t be tied up for so long. Plus JDS really, REALLY wanted to get paid. And actually I think his english has improved to where it’s definitely understandable but they’re still gonna put subtitles.
