I wasn’t really impressed by Cain and I sure as hell wasn’t impressed by Jake Shields.
I like Brock Lesnar. I liked him in the WWE lol and I was happy for him in his UFC success. But why did he have to get all racist with the comment he made? It doesn’t look good because it’s meant to piss off a lot of people and you become hated by a specific race because of what you said. I know Tito Ortiz purposely made racist comments but I hate him. He’s a real douchebag.
I don’t watch a lot of MMA but I see a trend where some of these guys take it too far with their racist comments. I mean we root for the fighter individually so I don’t know why they try to make it a race issue.
Having said that I don’t want to believe Brock and Tito are really racist. I just think they have to go to that extreme because they’re in a dangerous sport that requires them to be in killer instinct mode lol. So I think they have to be the biggest douchebags to amp themselves up.
But it does seem ugly when these comments are made and this is suppose to be entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
Maybe this is all extreme marketing from Dana White too. He probably told Brock to say that so he can get all the Mexicans pissed so that they’d all tune in and watch the fight. If so he markets it like in the old days of boxing when Jack Johnson became the first black heavyweight champion. They use to promote fights when they wanted a white contender to take down the black champion Jack Johnson. It was that primal.
