Great fight. Edgar showed so much heart in round 1. A draw was the best way to go. It was just too close for the belt to change hands.

I hadn’t even considered that. I guess two judges gave Maynard the 3rd round over one takedown, even though I felt he lost on the feet and stuffed other takedowns and Frankie got his neck at the end, but whatever. I’m still not seeing where anyone but Maynard thought he won the 5th, but apparently one judge agrees. I had it 48-46 Edgar, and one judge agrees with me.
You know what this means though. SALTY RUNBACK!

But if he wins the two rounds convincingly then you can score one 10-8 for the draw. With the 10 point must system it’s given for that kind of lee way. people just don’t use it.
That’s exactly what happened and if you get nearly KTFO several times in one round than you SHOULDN’T be able to win by decision.
In a 3 round fight, you wouldn’t. In a 5 round fight there’s time for a comeback like what we saw tonight. And that still wasn’t enough for two judges to give Edgar the win.
