Who said I was speaking for everyone? At this point having a site could possibly hurt as much as it could help, hence my just asking for a general opinion on the matter. We’re not an actual established community just yet (not matter how much I’d like to think we are) but if people want to switch it over to your old site I’ll have to rethink the other things I wanted to throw into the site (an image gallery, link to the wiki, a video log, whatever).

imo, i would wait. The thing about it is that its close enough to AC v.A where you can play AC and still be able to do all your stuff in v.B. But more importantly, if there was ever a tourney for it, it’d prolly be console, which is like, ver A anyways. It’d be far more worth it to import a PS2 and a copy of Melty. Assuming you already have a JP/modded PS2, then just getting a copy of MB for the ps2 should tide you over until they release an update for the ps2.
Its like, if there were lots of tournies in the states and lots of people playing in the states, maybe itd be worth it, but i think the crowd is too small, and the need to play v.B over v.A for the amount you’de pay to have to get an arcade board is a bit much imo.
But if you still want it, nobody is stopping you. And yeah while cabinet may be better than console, i dont think it makes that big of a difference to the enjoyment level. Its not like it’d be “hey im having a mb gathering, wanna come over?” “for ps2 or arcade?” “ps2 only, sorry dude i dont have a cabinet” “screw that i only play the arcade version.” It’d be more like “hey im having a mb gathering, wanna come over?” “sure, what time?”
And if you even said that you dont totally know how to play MB:AC correctly, then the differences between v.A and v.B prolly dont even matter. Unless you plan on going to sbo or something, it might be more beneficial as a US MB player to get used to the console version…
The PS2 version of MB comes with both ver.A (100% arcade perfect) and ver.B (which isn’t identical to the arcade ver.B, but it’s damn close).
Almost every MB PS2 video I have seen (even the ones out of Japan before the arcade release) were done in ver.B mode.
On top of that, they’re apparently re-releasing MB for the PS2 in a few months with all of the ver.B AC changes (with a PC release too?)
So yeah buying a ver.B arcade board for personal use is quite silly.
Where’s the actual proof that we’re getting a re-release though?

That’s so true. I’m in their channel from time to time, and whenever they say they prefer MB over a game like, say, GG, bottom line: games like GG are TOO hard to play and they don’t want to put in a lot of effort to get good. I can’t put it any simpler than that.
