The Melty Blood : Act Cadenza (PS2) thread~

why should 1 choose one of the maids when you can choose both?

a lot of players actually do. preference, i guess.

and i think i have satsuki set as my main for now. i will continue to practice aoko and play her in casuals, but if i ever go to a tournament in near future (“o squared” gg tourney in october is likely), i will most probably enter as satsuki. i really, really, really like aoko but there are many things that i still need to work out with her before i can play her competently in a tourney setting.

Yeah, choosing only one of the maids is usually preference. I like Hisui’s 214 attacks as they’re pretty good if you use them at the right time.

I didn’t really think of it like that, but in that sense I guess she takes after some part of Geese. Folks who I’ve came across when I was in west coast, played her more like Takuma/Yuri type, if you look from KoF perspective. Hell of a lot of air controls and sneaking in dashing grabs, hell, even sneaking in that unblockable super.

Tataki: speaking of what I’ve seen from mbr/mbrft…
you lose one specials for both of maids, both of which are somewhat useful. The new move they get isn’t that good. I don’t know if you can still pull assist’s heat/blood heat, but if that’s possible, it’s pretty good. (hisui loses projectiles, kohaku loses her flying move). Kohaku’s move that she loses IMO isn’t that great because when you’re fighting guys who can see that (big) recovery it sucks ass.

looks like the game’s finally catching on, for a change, which is good. Chaos/Kohaku players post up new infos when it happens.

Random U.S. player match vid.

hey who the fuck is that vsion. goddamn scrub!!!

jk, jk. nice match you guys. :bgrin:

Pretty good. U.S. players should record more of their matches. =\

I don’t think enough people play even on a low-tier level yet (being able to do the character’s basic combos). To most of the U.S. players this game is completely new except the few people who played it on pc, which is why there aren’t many match vids yet. Theres a guy named alter genesis who posted a bunch of vids on youtube. Unfortunately he and his friend are very new to the game so the vids don’t look very good.

I hope to encourage some new people to come out an play though, by at least showing a few U.S. players who while not on the level of japan, at least don’t suck.

Hey~

I WAS THE ONE WHO SAID DOUBLE ORB FINISH~

And the wonder game I was talking about was indeed wonderous~

<3

I have 2 (or 3?) other random matches from this tourney that I will try and put up this week.

Am I in one of those?

I think I have one of you either against Zar or Akuma but I haven’t checked the tape. I have Slash finals + 3s finals on the same tape that i need to do first then i can start sorting through random matches.

Oh you taped all 3, wow.

Awesome.

My Hisui was pure ass though, but oh well, thanks for taping everything Vic :D!

No, they shouldn’t…

good stuff putting the logo on the vid opening spook. let these fools know whats up. you should put the majority of the vids on teamS if you can. try to put up some of the earlier ones too.

sees to be lots of info here

I did a search as well as scanned all the pages in this thread and I couldn’t find this info.

So here I go

Does akiha have an infinite or not in act cadenza? Can it be done at home if you turn it too arcade mode? I have one video where an infinite is preformed but I can’t seem to get it to work. Also can you set this up with red akiha, I had some luck almost setting up it up on shiki using her forward+C, dashing under and doing a charged B into cr.jab, but she always got pushed back out… Any info would be helpful.

The infinite you are thinking of only works on Shiki in version A and is one of the numerous hitbox infinties that only work on him. I don’t know the notation for it. You have to end up with Akiha behind shiki facing the wrong way and keep throwing 2A at his back.

So I was wondering in terms of depth of play what do you guys think of this game? I mean in japanese match videos, at first I thought hey look these guys got some neat tricks (tk’d ribbons with Red akiha, or her pit lockdown, some interesting corner stuff like dashing to go for corner cross ups or re cross ups, Aoko ball setups.) and then I saw some characters who don’t really seem to have any tricks and just do the same basic setups over and over again (Arc, Chaos’s Air Combo release deer, over and over again, regular akiha run around get knockdown usually from counter hit pillar and then go for ribbon overhead mixups.) which actually seems to do alot better job of winning. Also most japanese play pretty conservative running away until they get a lucky knockdown to try and start pressure. And then I played a bit and noticed you could some frame trapping though it’s specific and also a few other interesting air dash setups. But I mean is that it? Is it really better in this game to run around avoiding your opponent and just hoping you get the knockdown first? Or is there more that I’m missing some part of the jap matches I’ve seen that I don’t understand?

Just wondering how far does this game really go?
