The Melty Blood : Act Cadenza (PS2) thread~

Haha I saw that one yesterday.

Thank you Densetsu and others…almost time to begin my training in this game…

:lovin:

Stuff like you seeing only one combo with Chaos is somewhat character specific but there really are a few characters who are like that. Half Chaos’s game is that jump C combo into the deer setup after, the other half is ranging your opponent to GET that jump C combo into the deer setup. The only other trick he has is crows into heat super unblockable.

Knockdowns in this game are devastating because in alot of matchups coming back from a position disadvantage without eating a good chunk of damage is very hard. This is why in alot of matches youll see lots of jumping, doublejumping, airbackdashing, and other attempts to bait the opponent into a position where you can get that first knockdown.

I don’t really know how to describe it to people otherwise. Alot of people look at the game and go “that’s it?” and all I can answer is yes, that’s really it. Some people will play it and find it very fun. There are alot of advanced techniques (Shield bunker cancelling to EXes probably the most prominent) but it is really sort of a fast paced, simpler game. I would put it as deeper then alot of other newer games though.

Hurray people who somewhat know how to play at least and not like the last version B arcade vid.

most of the game ost is pretty boring elevator music.
version B should have only 4 tracks:
The end of 1000 years
Basilica
Beat from Melty Blood
Blood heat!

Heh, elevator music. Now I know how to describe it to someone else. I think the soundtrack gets old fast, mostly because on arcade/ps2 they shortened all of the songs compared to how they were on pc.

Yeah, it really sucks how they shortened the tracks. Since I managed to add a custom soundtrack to my copy of Slash, I wonder if it’s possible to do the same in AC.

not just the length, but you can definitely tell that the tracks for act cadenza run at lower bit rate compared to the pc version.

Miyako’s BGM > *

You mean that song that’s cute til you realize it’s only 45 seconds long.

I like her old theme better.

Osoi!!!

ya~ra~re~ta~~

I saw that video a couple of weeks back. It’s one hell of a vid.

I just got into it. I am a fan of Aoko/Ciel/Nanaya/Hisui.

so uhhh… has there been any major american tournaments for this since the game hit ps2? (other than the side tourney at evo)

i know “o squared” at nebraska next month is gonna have mb, but my chances of going there is becoming rather bleak.

Evo was the biggest tourney for this that I know of in the US.

I had a system down for editing music tracks in the PC version but it was unstable and would sometimes crash the game or not play the tracks properly.

The way the ps2 version indexes the music files is completely different from the PC version though and I’ve been pretty unsuccessful with editing it so far.
