i just noticed second hit of aoko 123 can be cancelled into a special. maybe it could be useful as mix-up purpose on block, or safety measure when the opponent is too far for the third part to hit? i don’t think i’ve seen it happen in a match vid before but not sure if this is a new feature in version b or not (and too lazy to look it up right now).
This is generally not true. There is scaling that kicks in whenever you reverse chain, but is starts resetting itself immediately after the reverse beat. Say your combo is j.BC j.CB air throw. The scaling comes in at the end, but by the time the air throw is done executing, the reverse beat scaling is already reset.
On top of that, the game only uses the lower of the two scaling factors (between the reverse beat and normal scaling). So if you do it into a move that has 75% scaling, it doesn’t matter at all.
The real problem with reverse beat scaling comes from blockstring sequences with a lot of reverse chaining in them. Whiffing 2-3 blockstrings in a row will do a number to your damage and put you in a nasty reverse implied damage situtation.
The wiki has more on the reverse beat penatly than anyone ever wanted to know.
I believe it’s something like -> 2B, 2C xx 214B, 2B into air bnb.
Two reps? Do you mean that he can do another 214B after the first? If not, how the hell does that work then.
Miyako overhead? Most overheads in the game are 6B…so is it 6B, or did they actually make a new command and animation for it? Someone check, it’d take like two seconds.
623B is Miyako’s new overhead. It’s slow for a normal move but fast for an overhead, but it takes some balls to use. You do not do very much damage nor set up for any (the move pops up but they can tech.), but if you are blocked or it whiffs completely you are going to get creamed.
Ah I see…LOL, it is a taunt, exactly like lina said.
This possibly the only sort-of chick fighter that we love which all the girl characters are fully clothed :wow:
I still want to know what the options are in the options menu. None of the online FAQs tell me either.
2 Reps was possible before but its alot easier now.
He can do stuff like 2ABC 214B (Wallslam) IAD C 214B pause 214B pause 5B to air combo. Technically not really reps but he can combo the move multiple times with some effort and precise timing.
Edit: This is Sp00ky on Zar’s account.
The instruction booklet has the measurements for each female character (and some males too).
am i the only one who thinks it’s stupid how the practice dummy can be set to stand, crouch, jump, block all, and jump block… but not just crouch block??
The training mode blows. There isn’t even an option to simulate button mashing to reduce combo damage, so there’s no real way of telling how much damage a combo will do in a real match (unless someone is there to simulate button mashing for you). I wish they put more time into the training mode.
But then the game won’t be released til September:rofl:
Back when I was playing FT, I was wondering about that feature too. I’m so disappointed they didn’t add it in this installment because I was hoping to see if any other moves gained overhead properties. And the lack of a record feature is also very upsetting. :annoy:
orka: Since you are the only person who can read moonspeak, do you have move names for all of Kouma’s and Neco-Arc’s moves? The rest I have from bellreisa’s old MB FAQ (except for Aoko, whom you just did). I want them for the wiki.
(This goes out to anyone else who understands moonspeak and has the game or equiliviant resources, heh.)

i was gonna list translations… but these are all in the territory of “weird anime/game japanese names made up to sound cool” category which can never be quite translated in a accurate context, and they also give me headache so i didn’t do it. i could do it if you want me to, but i’m not sure if they would add any merit.
ok… aoko is starting to give me headache. her option selecting off okizeme are really tricky, and i dunno how i’m gonna properly learn the set ups and execution when the training mode is so shitty.
i’ll get to translating strats and specific set ups from aoko sites, and hopefully post them in a large bulk sometime next week.
aoko notes:
*holding 421 mines causes it to decend over a period of time. i managed to get two orbs to travel down and completely off of the screen :looney: .
214* mine can be held with [c] but the same cannot be done for the 214[a] mine. thats odd…
sorry orka, i didnt get to memorize the move names yet :wasted: .
my aoko is progressively improving in the multitasking/button buffering area. here are some combos that i was messing around w/ in training. good luck keeping your sanity.
1)corner
421[a]>2aab>6ab>burst>63214b>dash>2abc>5c>3c>air combo
2)corner
421[a]>2b>5b>burst>214[a]>dash>2ab>6abc>236c>mine (doesnt combo)
3)midscreen
412[a]>6[a]b>burst>623b>2abc>5c>3c>air combo
4)corner
412[a]>2ab>5c>burst>iad c>2ab>aoko123>sweep finisher>mine (doesnt combo)
gawd, shes like eddie, dizzy, testament AND venom in one.
you can also do a aoko 123 loop in the corner if you burst the orb after the third hit, then do the mid follow up (214c) > dash > jb > 2a, 2b, b > aoko 123 > low follow up (236c).
from there you can either reset the pressure with new orb or do the arc drive > air combo for massive damage.
hard as hell, though.
EDIT: dammit you beat me to it.
EDIT 2: also, i didn’t know the 214b starmine can be held with c. that’s some interesting stuff!
